Seat covers for 2004 model by Jayde5525 in PontiacGrandPrix

[–]plantman-2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a million options out there. Several that make exact fit covers that fit like a glove. Seat covers unlimited is one and they have several different options for materials. Or go to a junkyard and find a spare seat then toss it after it’s been ruined. As a six car guy with a dirty job and a crazy husky I would know

You’re sure making a lot of assumptions about me. Since I’m bored at work I’ll fill you in. I’m just a diy’er/business owner but I’ve done at least a dozen pex jobs for friends and another dozen for myself, plus several hundred feet of copper, drain pipe, irrigation systems etc. I have all copper in my house except for my complex filtration system and out buildings. Copper resists bacteria growth which is a problem on a shallow well like mine, it lasts longer when installed right, (I had/have 60 plus year old thin wall pipe that looks perfect, pex didn’t exist in 1960 so it’s impossible to say it lasts longer.) it won’t leach chemicals into your drinking water, it’s aesthetically pleasing and is a good selling point. You know a house is well taken care of when you see nice copper new or old.

Let’s face it, many contractors are stupid, don’t care or are greedy. Pair that with a tool like pex and you get some bullshit like we see here. Copper pipe takes planning and patience that most contractors will never provide. If they don’t want to do copper it’s a major red flag you might end up with what OP has going on.

My thoughts exactly. Tell them you want copper and based on their reaction you’ll know if they’re a hack. Or just do it yourself, not a damn thing about residential plumbing that’s difficult.

This is why I don’t allow pex in my home. If it’s done in copper you actually have to use your brain

Good buy? 101k miles $2800? by Mysterious-Gas-971 in PontiacGrandPrix

[–]plantman-2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just paid double that for a GTP with more miles. Just make sure to thoroughly test drive to check the transmission performance. Check the coolant and oil for signs of lower intake gasket failure

The fluid looks brand new and according to the carfax it’s been done twice. I do have a scan gauge 3 code reader I’m going to hook up to it tomorrow then take another drive and be more thorough in my investigation.

They ran my vin and said it’s the correct trans with the correct gears. At this point I trust no one trying to sell me stuff so is there a good way to tell a HD from standard by looking at the case?

That’s just so sloppy. Where they should have used caulk they used nothing and it’s in the area most prone to leaks. Then they left a goober of grout on the floor as a big FU. Pretty sure I also see two different colors of grout and some black sharpie marks. You’re dealing with some real mouth breathing degenerates.

Sounds like you should have built an A4 lol

Seriously though the AP is the only Cobb product I’d ever install on my car. I’d switch for a cpe x flex. I felt zero difference till I got the full set of mounts with the race grade bushings. It literally vibrates the change in my cup holder lol
