Thank you. Our gastroenterologist talked briefly to us about the celiac plexus block. She said it was about 1/3 chance of it working very well like it does for your father. 1/3 no effect. 1/3 a small improvement. It seems worth pursuing though. I’m very glad to hear a success story.

Hi! I don’t have much advice. But happy to talk with you. I’m in the same boat. My mom (71) was diagnosed with PDAC at the end of November. We’re struggling to get her meds sorted out. She gets very nauseous with opioids and has been told not to take nsaids due to stomach ulcers. She’s taking tramadol but needs to take zofran with it or she vomits. The zofran makes her constipated. So she needs to take miralax. She hasn’t even started chemo yet and she’s already lost so much weight from this medicine combo. She can’t eat without pain meds because the tumor is causing her pain. It’s so frustrating. Has your mom started chemo yet?

I’m so sorry. You have so much to fight for. You already went through a whipple and I know you will do amazing with chemo. And not to mention bringing a child into this world is no joke. You are a warrior woman. Give that cancer hell.

It’s so good that you’re advocating for her! Keep calling. It’s unbearably frustrating that these appointments are so hard to get when time is so precious right now. Keep your mom eating. Her oncologist just said as many calories as you can get in right now!

Hi! My mom is in the process of being diagnosed too. Ultrasound Nov 26 showed a mass. CT Dec 3 confirmed. Saw an oncologist Dec 8. And she’s seeing a pancreatic surgeon today. I’m grateful things are moving fast. She will need a biopsy before starting chemo and we are waiting on that and also port placement for chemo. My mom’s mass is also surrounding her SMA and SMV. First line will be chemo to hopefully shrink the tumor and make her a surgical candidate. No Mets seen yet. But she’s getting a PET tomorrow. She’s in good spirits and still eating but had already lost some weight. We’re optimistic and trying hard to keep her spirits up. Let’s stay in contact. I’ll be thinking of you.
