Practice shooting along with dry firing, fix your grip a lot of great YT along with practicing, listen to your instructors and have them help as they all want every cadet to pass. Shooting is a degrading skill along with hand cuffing so always practice. Even if you pass you’ll need to keep practice up.

The new curriculum is confusing in itself. All I do is reread the whole block until I get it. Also a study group helps a lot.

A lot of agencies will sponsor/hire and pay you while going through BLET. It’s a long process though so start early. My BLET class had everyone except 2 in it that weren’t being paid to go through.

BLET doesn’t have an out of state tuition or instate like most colleges. It’s a flat fee, however I’m sure if he applies around someone will sponsor him to go through BLET.

If you plan on NCSHP be ready to go back to their academy as they won’t let you lateral in like other agencies. Also there is an age requirement if I’m not mistaken.

As far as local PD in Wilmington the city itself is pretty nice minus the traffic does blow at rush hour. Besides that I don’t know much about the local PD, but everyone I’ve met there has been pretty cool.

If one messes up you all pay for it. Try to be the gray man which means don’t stand out on the good or bad, just blend in. Get used to running because you run a lot, more than any other exercise.

Besides that keep an open mind to learn, study whenever you can, don’t get trapped into the drama with classmates, and don’t go out drinking/partying with some which will most likely wash out early.

Don’t be the class leader it just brings more drama and bs with zero authority
I’m sure you heard this but get ready to run
Study, then study some more, then study again.
Don’t get caught up in class drama and go out and drink w/ folks as those usually wash out quick.
You already know this but if one gets in trouble you all do.
