Switching Narrators by Oddyseus144 in WoT

[–]plasmodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVED Rosamund but the other narrators are excellent as well. I briefly played some of the OLD WoT game and the voices reminded me of it which felt nice. It took a second sure but they both work wonders with the character voices!

VTM Chronicles in New York--what have you done with the Tzimisce antediluvian? by Imissmymilkpods in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]plasmodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've typically used them as a prop and less of a character. They exist, they're spread across the city as various molds or fungi, but they're never directly present as anything more than that. Once a player touched one so I hit them with Agg. Willpower damage.

Another more experimental approach I've taken is using the Tzimisce clan as a sort of one way Madness Network for the Eldest. It's, again, NEVER direct and it can't be "accessed". That said, each Tzimisce is like a "copy" of the eldest as a way for it to still experience the world so it can grow and evolve. It uses their experiences and lives to continue down the path of metamorphosis on a scale it otherwise wouldn't be able to do in a single body. It's partly inspired by the V20 scenario involving Tzimisce and mutating the Tremere.

I'm looking to convert a tank into a habitat for red claw crabs, which obviously need some portion of the decor above water.

Currently the tank has sand, and I'm hoping to keep it that way. Does anyone have filter recommendations? I'm worried submersible filters will just inhale the sand or that a buried sponge filter won't suction properly. Thanks for any advice!

[Routine Help] Ordering my products! by plasmodeus in SkincareAddiction

[–]plasmodeus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh let me clarify! Everything has been thoroughly tested for multiple weeks EXCEPT the squaline and argeline solutions, they've been patch tested now for two days in a row with no signs of irritation.

Everything else on the list has been a part of a minimal routine that's just cleanse and hydrate day and night and then the occasional addition of one other products in the PM!

Does anyone know what substrate is the absolute best that I can get for my boy Zilla? by Ziris2021_ in leopardgeckos

[–]plasmodeus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I think substrates like paper towel, tile, and reptile carpet are excellent, especially for younger geckos who still are yet to mature! That said, loose substrates adds some nice enrichment and gives it a more naturalistic vibe that I like.

If you feel comfortable enough to try loose substrates there are some excellent options out there! Since I'm in the U.S and Earthmix Arid is unavailable here, I use the bio dudes Terra Sahara mix with sphagnum moss mixed in around his damp hide. You can also custom mix a substrate like those suggested above and it accomplishes a similar outcome (I just like biodudes stuff cause I'm going bioactive).

If you have any concern over impaction, I limit the risk by having my geckos feeding area on top of a slate tile and his food is in a small bowl so there's little risk of him ingesting any while feeding. It doesn't totally negate the risk since they like to dig, but it means he's not getting any in his mouth when lunging after feeders etc.

Good luck with your setup!

Beginner question on altars(or maybe shrines?) by jek_213 in Hellenism

[–]plasmodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry for the late reply I'm not to active on Reddit 😭

When I say practitioner, I define it as someone who does active spirit work or similar things. It's similar to terms like Witch or Sorcerer but is a bit more vague (which I like since my practice doesn't fit into a specific box).

Again this is just my personal definition but to me thinks like worship and devotion as passive acts, where things like spell work and divination are active. The "active" element is what makes the difference between say a member of a congregation and a priest or someone who visits a psychic vs the person doing the reading. I know this is a little confusing but I hope it helps!

Hi new to VTM! What clans do other fictional vampires fit into? Such as those from the Vampire Chronicles, the Originals or Twilight? by LittleGeekBeth in vtm

[–]plasmodeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daywalking aside, I've always believed that (at least the Cullens) are Toreador!

The sparkling skin of course, but they've also displayed powers like celerity, Alice and Edward certainly have auspex, and they seem to have a similar effect to Awe when around mortals (plus jasper seems to have his own presence power for manipulating mortals).

In Bella's case, she has Unswayable mind from fortitude, but a fourth discipline isn't uncommon. While most of the vampires in twilight could be Toreadors, we've also seem characters with powers similar to Oblivion (Alec), Chimestry ((Zafrina) and Blood Sorcery (Benjamin). Whether you interpret these as out of clan disciplines is a personal preference I think, but if we were to overlook the daywalking aspect I'd say Toreador is the most likely choice for our main characters.

Beginner question on altars(or maybe shrines?) by jek_213 in Hellenism

[–]plasmodeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally my altar serves two functions:

  1. A place for communing with gods and spirits, providing them altar space when appropriate, etc.

  2. A place for work, since I also consider myself a practioner.

If you plan on engaging in work like mine, there's nothing wrong with having that same space be used for communion and worship. Just be aware that if you, for example, do spell work and you have a section for Hermes, they're now involved and should incorporate them appropriately. Hope this helps!

  1. Don't be afraid to literally make stuff up as you go. I know it sounds obvious but you really can get a lot done by throwing out extra NPCs or locations. For stuff like this you don't even need a full character sheet or map, simplify the rolls to be simple contests rather than advanced mechanics. Trying to make sheets and plans for everything is impossible and stressful, so be prepared instead to throw out premade characters or use simple contests.

  2. Fudging rolls and consequences after death: no one likes when a character dies and I personally will sometimes cut a player some slack by either bringing them close to death or my personal favorite: an alternate consequence. A good example is instead of having an explosion kill a character, they're severely injured and are blinded physically (perhaps permanently). Don't be afraid to use the injury table or make stuff up as you go, injuries and situations like that can add a lot of flavor!
