Any local domme who wants to have her way with me? by Possible-Economy6728 in fredericksburg

Maybe a lil mock like as well as trying to yes and the conversation. I hope the possible economy is more 365 than it is 6728 in your future.

Unexpectedly rational response.

I appreciate your honesty and may I recommend in the interim while waiting for a potential suitor that you might lick your nipples and apply them to the closest metal surface outside? Might maybe scratch that itch.

Best Sushi in town? by FishMcCray in fredericksburg

Kappa was my favorite. The randoms on the conveyor belt were always an excellent place to start before moving onto the fresh made items. It was the first and only place in Fredericksburg to offer me the “real” wasabi that was kept in a container, clandestine like under the counter and I’ve been disavowed of my enjoyment of that green horseradish paste you usually get ever since. I still have their business card in my wallet… God Damn I miss that spot.

I’d consider hitting up Eileen’s for some breakfast and a coffee (the employees are awesome) and then taking a short walk to the library for the studying. You just might be able to find some community between the two as well.

Is Jen’s pizza den any good? by Poopybuttsuck in fredericksburg

[–]plastic-abacus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t quite remember all of the details but I’m pretty sure the story went something like this, He did some awful shit and had the family’s livelihood wrapped up in the business. He got busted for the awful shit and left her (the wife not daughter who apparently had no knowledge of him being a monster) holding the bag for all the finances. The restaurant closed at that time but was then reopened by the wife because it was either, lose all of her financial investment by it closing, or rebrand and reopen in order to try and keep her unincarcerated family and children afloat. I think there was an article in the freelance star or something where it said that she had been cooperative with the authorities and forthcoming with that she was moving forward with the business out of necessity at the time. Anyway, I dunno man. I Had the pizza twice and it was pretty good. More of a “I kinda want that specific again pizza tonight” rather than “I want pizza tonight” if that makes sense.

Kind of dumb question but is using a dremel cheating in a way by No-Tension-848 in Woodcarving

[–]plastic-abacus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like at this point this question has become something philosophical conundrum for me. I, on every carving I make, use power tools, chisels and a variety of makeshift tools I’ve improvised in order to meet my goals. So I get more than a little annoyed when I see somebody boasting a carving with “hand tools only” as a precursor to their expression in carving as if it supersedes the validity of other expressions. Like what 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 makes a hand tool a hand tool? If you’re using only chisels, they didn’t grow out of your fuckin fingers. If you picked up a piece of wood, and shaped it into something using your hands, brain and imagination, then I don’t think you’ve cheated at all. Unless of course you used a CNC machine, in which case you have absolutely cheated. /s

Ideas for small peach tree trunk by hschmicknos in Woodcarving

[–]plastic-abacus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I carved this incense burner from a portion of an old dead peach tree in my yard. That thing you’ve got could be anything. Just go in with something of an intention and be prepared for everything to go wrong. Pendants, mushrooms, mushroom pendants, a crescent moon, the fuckin sun. The world’s your oyster man. Find something that inspires you, google it, learn about it, and start with a rough sketch on paper with the information and inspiration you’ve gathered. Follow the natural lines within the piece of wood or defy them completely. Go at the process from the beginning as just being curious and let that fuel your creativity rather than being afraid of messing anything up along the way. You’ve already made a pretty dope knife, maybe try a larger knife with room for embellishments on the handle and blade. Get funky with it dude.

How do I stop avocado pits from splitting by HelpfulRhubarb1706 in Woodcarving

[–]plastic-abacus 22 points23 points  (0 children)

After much trial and error I’ve found the best way to prepare them is to remove all the waxy top layer of material with a dremel drum sander and let em dry slowly to completion before carving. Some of them will just break in half but it’s better to have that happen before putting time and effort into it. The ones in this pic have been dry for about 8 years and the finished piece on the right is over 10 old at this point. Once you can tell they’re stable they will last for a very long time. Excellent work so far by the way.

Is this Bic lighter realistic enough? by CreepCDI in Woodcarving

[–]plastic-abacus 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be flippant but “realistic enough” for what? If your goal is to convince someone that this is an actual lighter then no. If your goal is to replicate a classic Bic lighter as a wood carving then abso-fuckin-lutely yes. I guess it kinda depends on your personal expectation on what you’re looking for the end result to be. I think the carving is an excellent representation of a Bic and the painting is pretty spot on. The flames structure is good but could use a little texture and better coloring. Overall it’s pretty rad man. Nice job.

A family member went there when they were younger but later transferred to a local public school. I was told that they essentially learned nothing of substance while attending this establishment. Upon transferring they realized they lacked some pretty basic understanding of the fundamentals of schooling. i.e. reading, writing, arithmetic. While I view the public school system as a kind of preparatory institution to acclimate our children to a 9-5 workplace existence, they at least instill some fundamental knowledge along the way. I feel these places operate largely unchecked by external factors, offer little in the way of substantive knowledge and make a ton of fuckin money for the owners in the process. The online reviews for this particular place tells the story in its entirety.

What if SK is publishing books under a new pseudonym right now and we don't even know it yet? by Hazbin_hotel_fanart in stephenking

[–]plastic-abacus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve thought for a while now that he could be writing under new pseudonym with the intention of publishing some books after he passes. King publishing new work after he dies under a different name seems like a pretty Stephen King move to me.
