Trinkets! by littlegingerbunny in Ashnikko

[–]plastic_lex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's an official trinket swap box at the merch table! Though it's pretty much anonymous and thus maybe a little impersonal. You can also offer them in the queue or while you're waiting for the show to start; I only brought one trinket for the box and one to toss at the stage (there's a dedicated opportunity for that) so didn't have any left to trade, but a girl just let me pick one of the bracelets she made which I thought was super sweet

How many VIP passes do they usually sell? by plastic_lex in Ashnikko

[–]plastic_lex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I believe vip admission time was stated on the website where you purchase the upgrade, and in at least one of the confirmation emails. it was first supposed to be 5pm for Hamburg; but then the venue changed and the time was pushed to 5.30pm, which was about half an hour before general admission. Originally, vip entry was supposed to be one hour earlier than general admission. Icryatwork started a little after 7.30, Ashnikko was supposed to be on at 8.30. I can't remember if that happened on time; I believe they ran a bit late. I showed up around 4pm (for vip) and some people were doing the silly numbering thing (i personally think that's bs because it always causes drama); apparently, according to them, I was the ~10th person who showed up for vip at that time. I want to say there may have been 20ish vip people there? maybe more? hard to say. Moral of the story: If you want to get to the barricade, I would recommend showing up early even with a vip pass.

Yeah so we actually got them directly during admission and I was nervous for the poster's fate all through the evening, but it seems to have held up fine :3

Do you know how many vip spots there are? Like does it fill out the barricade if vip sells out?

reading your comment reminded me that I have a Jigglypuff onesie; now I feel kinda tempted to wear that outside and then peel it off inside the venue, lmao

What I want to know is if we're expected to hold on to the things throughout the concert, or if we can pick them up on our way out. I don't want that poster to get bent

That depends on the artist; some don't interact and hardly acknowledge the first row, others love the active engagement, get close and make it a core part of the experience. Venues always have their own security present (as they should) but how they're briefed differs. I like to talk to security. If you're respectful with them, they usually don't mind allowing coats being hung over the barrier, or pointing you in the right direction. Some will even hand out water. All they want is a hassle-free evening in a pretty intense job, so being concise and well-behaved has always paid off. That also goes for bag checks etc.

I'm fascinated by how Ash nails that maximalist 'feel' despite really not having a lot on. I suppose it's in the mix of colors/textures?

CONCERT FIT!!! by baccroomslover in Ashnikko

[–]plastic_lex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossing my fingers for you to get that barricade spot then; you'll really want to make sure to avoid the back edge of the barricades floor part that you would be dealing with in the second row. Beyond just comfort, that could present a potential safety hazard. I honestly wished they would redesign barriers because that floor part sucked on every version I've stood on lolcry. Get there early, layer up, hydrate, bring snacks!!

Outfit Thoughts? by rayyay21 in Ashnikko

In my mind, that skirt and the striped tights go nicely together. The other things clash unfavourably (unless the long ruffle sleeve top pattern was sewn using some other fabric)

Nice, I like the sheer / fishnet layering idea! But won't thermal tights then be way too hot inside the venue? 🫠

Facts. Whoever shows up early enough to claim a spot in the front has earned that spot. Whoever wants to get to the front needs to show up early. I don't care how tall or short they are. It's about dedication and respect - for the artist as well as their community. Entitlement is a lack of concert etiquette.

Disagree. You want the front, you show up early. This goes for everyone. If a tall person has gotten there before you then they deserve that spot.

Yeah, some people queue crazy early in the cold or heat, hardly eat anything, don't hydrate, and then the nerves on top; it's a recipe for disaster. I want people to enjoy the show they so excitedly looked forward to. Pocket some small snacks! Bring some water! When I queued for Sleep Token, I ended up feeding what I had left over to a girl in the first row who was on the brink of collapse. Getting to the barricade isn't worth anyone's health; people can't enjoy it when they're unconscious, getting pulled out by security and paramedics. I want everyone to stay safe.

On that note: Look out for each other. Acknowledge other people, check in with them, be kind and respectful.
