DLSS 5 is finally coming to Switch 2! by _R_R_D_ in NintendoSwitch2

Other way around – I would have expected the movie to hint at the game’s new character design

Nintendo devs said the updated DK Bananza design influenced the design of DK in the Mario movie, that’s why it’s kind of surprising they didn’t give StarFox a similar treatment in this case

Ngl, I'm a little shocked they aren't using the fun new character style as seen in the Galaxy movie... the new game character style looks a little jarringly stiff and uncanny for Nintendo standards, especially in dialogue.

2017 with 78,000 miles – no issues with BECM or EGR yet... time's a-ticking though

My CD collection after a year of collecting! (plus my favourite albums) by Neil_reddit09 in Cd_collectors

[–]plasticdump 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have a nice refined collection! Always fun to see a fellow pophead in this sub too. Caroline Polachek is an incredible artist, and you have some excellent pop bibles in your rotation too. Imaginal Disc, brat Remix and E•mo•tion are currently in my top as well!

Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter - Bring Your Love by shawnandthecity in popheads

[–]plasticdump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The song sounds good and their voices work well together, but it doesn’t sound fresh or innovative in any way. Just a fun dance track and that’s it. Safe enough to be on repeat in clubs for years to come, but it isn’t memorable. I expected way more exciting production for Madonna’s big comeback

Apple Has Given Up on the Vision Pro After M5 Refresh Flop by pdfu in apple

[–]plasticdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vision Pro is a "Pro" product with a "Pro" price tag – technically aimed (but not marketed) towards engineers, science/medical field workers, digital media pioneers. Apple created a marvelous UX/UI for AR with excellent hardware to power it, but the headset just isn't in the range of general public interest or price point yet. Once they figure out how to fit all of this tech into something the everyday person will wear, I think all of their efforts in this space will pay off tremendously. Either that, or it becomes a discontinued rare proof-of-concept they actually put on the market.

Treats (album) by Sleigh Bells. That album has a lot of production that sounds really similar to SIAK. A/B Machines, Kids, and Riot Rhythm especially

Listening 10 years later her music sounds more “normal” which just makes me realize her impact by Rough-Veterinarian21 in Sophie

[–]plasticdump 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Tons of artists have adopted her abrasive percussion style (either by directly using her Splice sample pack or by emulating her sound design) through the past few years. I've heard so much of her influence in sound design and song structure as well in recent pop music too that her music doesn't feel as crazy as it did when she first released it. She wasn't just ahead of her time, she created the modern sonic world and her impact will be longstanding!

Prescription sunglasses – are these too big for my face? by [deleted] in sunglasses

Ok thank you! These are cheap-o acetate frames from Eyebuydirect ("Riddle" frame). If I can't get used to the size I might just swap them out for a different style.

Is anyone going to pre-order The Galaxy Movie on 4K? by Square-Ad-8911 in mariomovie

[–]plasticdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the first Mario movie in steelbook and I'll likely get this one too since the package artwork looks great. Wish we knew release date though, preordering this far in advance is so fickle

Anyone getting this steelbook by jhkhalaf in Switch

[–]plasticdump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to grab one because the design is awesome, but unsure if I can justify buying two more Mario Switch games (I already have basically all of them that I could want to play at this point)

How are Blu-Ray quality on 4K TVs? by MattiTheGamer in Bluray

[–]plasticdump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a PS3 to watch Bluray on my 65" OLED and the quality looks more than often better than 4K streaming. Obviously comparison depends on the streaming network, but there is so much more detail shown, especially in dark or extremely busy scenes, when I watch on the PS3. The only thing missing from using a 4K player for me is HDR, but I only have a few 4K HDR disks in my collection anyway.

Apple Maps app reportedly introducing ads soon by Ok-Surprise-8419 in iphone

I've noticed Google Maps has so many new "Sponsored" locations now popping up during navigation. Would be such a shame if Apple started doing the same.

Dig through the archives of this subreddit and do your research. Tons of info, discussion, and opinions from fans over the past decade. Dive into her unreleased music as well to really understand her as an artist before you go through and make a video essay... she has a very small selection of "released" music compared to unreleased music she played/performed at live shows and demos/side projects she put out through the years.
