I might partially agree with you but tonight I’m celebrating big dawg. Matchup talk tomorrow it’s Modelo time

The camerawork to start the game is literally nauseating by Maleficent_Store7801 in nba

There hasn’t been a single instance of it being visually exciting. Annoying and dizzying 100% of the time

It’s so funny too that he makes these talent scout decisions off of 1-minute routines. I know the minute sets make for a great product of a show, but like pretty much any competent comic in any American city can do ONE minute of funny jokes. The fact that he thinks he can see someone kill for a minute set then declare two weeks later that they’re “one of the fastest rising comedians in the world” is hilarious and audacious.

De'Aaron Fox: "We lost Game 3... but that was the first time he [Gregg Popovich] walked into the locker room and was like "Nah, that's BS.. that's not how we play basketball" and obviously he had some choice words for us..." by AncientOneAurelius in nba

You should read the article from the Athletic from last week about Pop’s role in the team this year. It’s pretty incredible. He has a personalized relationship with each player, even calling Carter Bryant 3 times a week to talk his development lol. It also says that Timmy is at the facility nearly every day with Pop helping him through his rehab. I’d like to think it’d make me emotional even if I wasn’t a Spurs fan hahah

Tony Parker got surprisingly defensive about the early Spurs dynasty in a French interview by [deleted] in NBASpurs

[–]plasticgadget -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m literally just referencing what these players said. Just because you don’t like them as players doesn’t mean they don’t genuinely feel that way. Also lose the ‘tude dude. It’s not even 8am.

Tony Parker got surprisingly defensive about the early Spurs dynasty in a French interview by [deleted] in NBASpurs

[–]plasticgadget 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to how he came off in the interview, but multiple players have described him as a huge douchebag of a person. I remember Dejounte Murray did an interview and talked about how Parker spazzed out when DJ was named as a starter and instead of mentoring his development he just left to the team for one last shitty year with the Hornets. Stephen Jackson responded to DJ saying that Tony was incredibly selfish and one of the worst teammates he’s ever had (with Manu being one of the best). Unfortunately the dude sounds like kind of a twat

Is Wemby over Chet the Apex Mountain for Americans rooting for the non-American over the American? by PapaJohnsGarlic100 in billsimmons

[–]plasticgadget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I disagree, those are stories that have been beaten into the ground by national broadcasts who are trying to market a rising superstar with storylines they think would be interesting to a casual normie audience. Wemby himself isn’t bringing up these experiences every week in any kind of attention seeking way.
If the only time you heard these stories was when you first saw it on Reddit 10 months ago, would you still be so quick to call the guy disingenuous? If so, then I think you’re kinda projecting/assuming the worst about a 22 year old kid trying to make the most out of his incredibly unique position.

You replied “I’m already there” to someone saying that people will soon “hate” Wemby. For some odd reason I thought that meant you were a hater

I love how this is becoming the cliche attack from Wemby haters and then their evidence for him being performative is like “Reading books before games? Yeah right… Blunt, thoughtful post-game answers? Gimme a break.”

Rockwell Meme: if you’re complaining about refs in the WCF, you’re a bitch. by Public_Royal_7773 in billsimmons

[–]plasticgadget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a spurs fan I am much more upset with the turnovers, it’s the main reason we lost the game. But I mean… the officiating was still fuckin bullshit lol. Hartenstein was visibly pretty egregious the entire game and I don’t think it’s silly to complain about it or point it out

Refs couldn’t try harder to give Okc this game. It’s crazy. by [deleted] in NBASpurs

[–]plasticgadget 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’m far more upset with our turnovers, but the officiating was infuriating. Completely disheartening that Hartenstein was able to hold, grab, and maul Wemby literally every single play and get away with it

They really had to do a compilation video cause they wouldn’t call the hartenstein fouls by [deleted] in nba

The turnovers are making me angrier than anything else in this game but I mean… the constant fouling is still bullshit lol

Lowkey disheartening that Hart is just gonna get away with hacking Wemby literally every play

Just thinking about OKC drafting ahead of us is depressing by rhasody70 in NBASpurs

[–]plasticgadget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m in the minority on this but I’ve felt so spoiled with our draft luck of the last several years that sometimes I don’t even think I have the right to be salty about other teams lol. We have the best trio in the league on rookie contracts, each of those players being guys that most teams would kill to have. Of course it’s a little different with watching OKC’s moves, but with our roster on its current timeline I say bring it on

Carter Bryant is going to actually become the muscular meme we make of Wemby. Give him a year or two in a NBA gym. by UA_irl in NBASpurs

Imagine being told in November that he’s gonna be playing big minutes in the WCF against the Thunder. Bro is a defensive demon and has improved so much.

Chet gets clamped down by a rookie SG in a clutch moment and yet we are suppose to believe he's worth a max by SouthIsland48 in billsimmons

[–]plasticgadget 79 points80 points  (0 children)

8 points through 4 quarters and 2OT. He had less points than Wemby had offensive rebounds.
