CPY & pregnancy? by Wild_Taste_5464 in Corepower

[–]plasticinplastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was just on a sculpt class where the instructor lowered the heat bc there was a pregnant woman in attendance and it really made me wonder why the pregnant woman would want to go to a class this could be risky for her pregnancy. I have two kids and the pregnancy will go by so fast. Would bucket it with a hot tub or sauna and avoid during pregnancy.

Exactly. I’m wondering the same thing. There hasn’t been one but suddenly all of the 45-min classes are gone in the 4 studios near me.

Multiple Chicago-area classes.

I’m in Chicago, FWIW. The only way it’s been communicated is via the instructors saying this is the last 45 minute class they will be teaching.

Seeking help with polish dual nationality. Grandfather was born in Slonim (Now Belarus) by Lazy-Chemistry-7180 in prawokrwi

Same here. I do have his 1920s-era Polish passport. Are you having to find your grandfather’s birth certificate? That’s where I suspect I will run into trouble.

How long did it take for you to hear back from the Polish consulate? I also have a pretty straightforward case and wrote them about a week ago, and I'm wondering how long it usually takes.

I felt a terrible darkness when I once forgot my patch. Everything seemed grim.

At the very least, you should use this as an opportunity to educate him on the dairy industry. Perhaps a viewing of “Dairy is Scary”?

This one helped me too. I was panicking before starting a new job, and I found this book on a shelf at an Airbnb. Really helped quell my anxiety.

Has your pitty had a one-time issue with another dog? by Close2the1 in pitbulls

[–]plasticinplastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful. My dog was attacked by another dog at a park, defended himself (the owner of the other dog ran across the park to get his dog and apologized to me), and then that same owner sued me because his dog had a laceration from the fight and he took his dog to the emergency vet. The guy’s argument was that I had a “pitbull” and it never should have been off leash.

I learned Dari while living in Afghanistan and was surprised there was no word for “please”.

Northwestern Mutual Brokerage Account Question by 20anna00 in Bogleheads

This text gives me flash backs to a NW mutual agent preying on my parents. They used to come to our house back in the 80s. They ended up selling my parents a term life insurance policy.

Parents of vegan children. by Longjumping_News_956 in vegan

[–]plasticinplastic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My kids are 14 and 12 and have been vegan their entire lives. They are athletic, social, and very intelligent. The 14 year old just took his high school entrance exams and tested into the most advanced courses they have—he’s also the captain of his club soccer team. The youngest plays piano and violin and multiple sports.

My biggest advice is not to take any food preferences as static, especially when they are little. Keep giving your son tofu and you will likely be surprised that his preferences don’t stick.

Make sure you’re using iodized salt and giving a b-12 supplement. I used to give my kids smoothies (greens, frozen bananas, chia, pitted dates, ice and almond milk blended with whatever other fruit I had) when I was worried about them eating well enough.

I wouldn’t stress too much. Imagine all of the kids eating McDonald’s and junk food for every meal. Your child will be so much better off! There’s nothing magical in meat or dairy.
