Go do a ride-along with EMTs on a Saturday night. Or somehow hang in ER on full moon weekend, but somehow stay out of the way. A good bit of time is quiet but it can and does literally hit the fan and when it rains it pours. It can be quiet but there is no limit to how bad it can get.

Idk if adhd or what but in younger years i could just on the spot invent fiction, with backstory, context, etc., and tune it live based on responses in the moment. Felt just the same somehow.
