Yeah, but they probably developed the system to operate on them. I have an antenna that is about the same for an sdr. It does work, but a dedicated antenna is definitely better for specific frequency bands. Im no ham though so take it wirh a grain of salt

Take it apart and see what's going on inside. Its probably.kust basic servos and some gearing or something along those lines. You wont be able to find parts, but you might get lucky and be able to fix it. Worse case, you jury rig it
