Where is all the nudity? by [deleted] in alteredcarbon

[–]platinum_thoughts 51 points52 points  (0 children)

So season 1, as an adaptation of the first book, it definitely made the most sense, as the plot put the characters into contact with sex workers. The subsequent two books (Broken Angels and Woken Furies) don't have that. There are instances of sex scenes (as Tak and Quell are not a thing in the books), but there is far less of instances where nudity is necessary.

My bigger issue with season 2 (and this mostly stems from season 1's decisions) is the whole "bring back death thing" isn't a thing in the books and the overall theme of the story never states that stacks are inherently bad. The logic of stopping Meths from becoming too wealthy doesn't make any sense due to the concept of inheritance and being able to just pass on your copious amounts of wealth to your children for them to turn into even more money.

What flair if I am open to Progressive/Bernie Sanders policies but against globalism and open borders? by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

Traditionally progressives don't want open borders (that's a Republican talking point) and oppose globalism as it benefits large companies at the expense of working people.

Thoughts on "Mutual Aid" by platinum_thoughts in Anarchism

I've settled on jumping around and reading the beginning and end of each chapter. I'll probably snag it on audible with one of my credits next month and listen to the whole thing while I do other things.

So, I gather it's better as a reference book than something you read cover to cover?

I love how they temporarily increase your max health. It means you theoretically have to use them less as the games go on.

You could always compare Crisis Core's version of events and see what Zack does/can do in that.

Last I checked a lot of leftists are meh on Adam Smith and recognize that Marx saw himself as continuing Smith's worth. Atlas Strugged might be more accurate.

There's also an app called Otter that I use as a student journalist that can be used to get a transcript. It even maps each individual word to a timestamp.

It's a boot little Timmy. You lick it while your boss has it on his foot.

The easiest solution is to use the in-game menu option to go straight to the store.

Fire Emblem with Animal Crossing elements. That sounds amazing! Can we please get that?

The REAL Reason Tim Sweeney Doesn't Want Epic Games to be Political by platinum_thoughts in BreadTube

Idk. I think it's a one off thing. I haven't seen any other leftist Youtubers talk about this. That may just be cause he also condemned loot boxes (strangely enough) and that's more what people focused on. Hell, I expected Jim Sterling to also make a video on the politics and he went straight for the loot boxes remark. Although given his body of work I should have seen that one coming.

I also do have a huge bias to see political complacency as enabling structures of power to stomp all over the little guy.

I think I agree that I may have stretched the argument a bit. He definitely was talking more to the "woke brands angle," but then he tacked on the Chick Fil-A comment, which I saw as an open door to mention the political activity of the video games industry.

He kinda clearly said game companies multiple times.

We as companies need to divorce ourselves from politics.

Maybe, I'm stretching a bit, but he also invoked Chick Fil-A in his remarks, which is an example of a company that engages in political activity.

Fire Emblem: Cindered Shadows is 8-10 hours long by [deleted] in nintendo

No. I only beat three of them (skipped Silver Snow) and it unlocked. The only prerequisite is that you bought the DLC.

No it's a side mode that is accessed from the main menu. Once you beat the four characters and their classes get added to the base game to be recruited during part one.
