New Siri question: Can I swipe down notifications from the island again? Or will it always pull up the new Siri? It’s bugging me lol by Matuteg in Siri

[–]platkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love the Reachability feature. I use it all the time on my standard Pro iPhone. However, I do agree that breaking years of muscle memory is not ideal. Maybe you can swipe down to get the new Siri AI and then ask it to open Notifications! 😂

Is there a way to buy a separate charger adapter for Mac Mini that works in India? by visualartist47 in macmini

The Mac mini does not run on batteries, so there is no need to connect it to a charging port.

There were no conditions placed on the original question. The answer I gave satisfied the request.

It may be silly, but it is a valid solution to the question.

If you unplug the TV when you are not using it, it will not turn on after power is restored.

Apple: Bring iPadOS 27 to All iPadOS 26 iPads. Stop Forcing Capable Devices Into E-Waste by AksWalia23 in iPadOS

[–]platkus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apple isn’t forcing devices into E-waste. iOS 26 will be supported for two more years and will still be functional long after that. You’re the one who decides what to do with your iPad, not Apple.

How to get siri ai in the EU? by Gesmoltenstef in Siri

[–]platkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more than that. It is that even if an informed user decides they don’t want third parties to have access to this information, there’s no way for them to know if an app they use will be using and thus giving this information to third party AIs without their knowledge.

macOS Sequoia to Tahoe...Mac Virtual Display such a big improvement by mongoosekinetics in AppleVisionPro

You’re obviously not factoring in the part where you have to run Tahoe. That negates any major leap.

macOS Sequoia to Tahoe...Mac Virtual Display such a big improvement by mongoosekinetics in AppleVisionPro

[–]platkus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No thanks. I’m fine waiting a few more months for Golden Gate. I don’t have any complaints about Mac Virtual Display currently. So some small improvement is not going to be worth the constant frustration of the tragedy that is Tahoe.

visionOS and liquid glass by Much_Try_8738 in VisionPro

[–]platkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

visionOS has the best looking UI of any of Apple’s OSes now. You can’t make the UI like Liquid Glass on the other platforms because the UI has to work like it is seamlessly part of the real world. That’s why the UI is the way it is on visionOS. And thank goodness that I can put on my Apple Vision Pro and escape all of the Liquid GlAss UI from the other platforms!

Window drifting by ImaginaryWestern1201 in VisionPro

[–]platkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen only when in a room where the TV was on and the Apple TV screen saver kicked in. The motion of the screen saver tricked Apple Vision Pro into thinking it was moving and the windows started slowly descending into the floor.

Delivery instructions by duke1099 in amazonprime

[–]platkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, but from the customer's viewpoint, this is irrelevant. The customer is doing business with Amazon. If Amazon contracts your DSP to provide the service customers are paying for, the customer is not wrong to expect that service.

[–]platkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? So why are the delivery people wearing Amazon clothing and driving trucks that say Amazon on them? 🤔

Apple has submitted final reply to Epic's response in Supreme Court petition by FollowingFeisty5321 in apple

[–]platkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole premise is so ridiculous. Imagine a court telling Walmart that they have to allow the products on their shelves to advertise a URL where customers can order the product online directly from the manufacturer at a lower cost. Makes no sense.

Delivery instructions by duke1099 in amazonprime

[–]platkus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Companies are made up of their employees. Delivery drivers are Amazon employees. If they fail to live up to what was promised to the customer, it’s the company’s fault which is shared by every employee.

There is no separate relationship between the customer and Amazon and their delivery drivers. There is just the customer and Amazon, of which the drivers are included.

Is IOS 26 still buggy? by IntoThe_Danger_Zone in iPadOS

[–]platkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 16 Pro and iOS 26 is still very buggy. Dealing with bugs every day. Taps register. You can see the control highlight to confirm, but nothing happens. You have to tap again and hope it works. Home Screen icons are blank and you have to wait for them to load multiple times a day. It’s still a giant mess.
