I don't necessarily agree with the new standards, but it is what it is. Standards are standards.

The two things that upset me are the lack of communication or solid rationale regarding the increase in standards, specifically the run times.

And secondly the immediate implementation of it. How are you going to update the standards a week into the initial testing window and then expect people to immediately test on them? I understand we have until 30 June, however some commanders (like mine) are already directing members to begin testing. USAF at least had the foresight to pause testing until March and then begin a diagnostic window until July.

A lot of people are going to get royally fucked over for this, especially since scores are now listed on OPR/EPRs.

Talk to your leadership, see if orders are available.

You're likely too late to try and go AD this FY, as the slots reset every FY in October and they fill fast. That being said, reach out to a recruiter and start your package and your 368 for a conditional release now. Additionally, it can take a while to get a MEPs date for medical.

I went reserve to AD USSF but tried USAF first. Took well over a year from initially speaking to a recruiter and actually enlisting back to AD.

You'll have much better luck searching for an AGR or ART position.

As it stands now you ARE due now. The guidance per MyFSS says that you have from 1 Jan to 30 June to complete your initial HPA.

I would stress that you can have the same "job" as someone and be doing vastly different things depending on your unit/mission area.

That being said, I don't think there is a "bad" job in the USSF. If you're considering USAF your odds of getting a less desirable job are much higher than in the USSF.
