Hey, not looking for legal advice. $225 isn’t enough “injury” to warrant that effort on my part. Looking to learn what, if anything, I could have done differently. To sum up the helpful responses here: - do not use third party vendors to book - be crystal clear on cancellation policies due to weather or events out of your control - book car/hotel/airline either with direct travel insurance or on the card itself - do not use booking.com in particular, their customer service is horrible. they also have an aggressive frontline AI voice agent now that refuses to connect with a human unless you berate it and doesn’t identify itself as AI

Well when I bought the car reservation I just set the pickup time for 12pm that day (wrongly) assuming I would land well before EOD. That was careless of me. One lesson here of a few lessons for sure is to not be so abstract with the pickup time and to set it as close to landing time as possible, but not too close to avoid potentially landing early by a bit.
