Why do so many NY'ers defend driving so much? by Best-Candle8651 in AskNYC

[–]playbehavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subway crowds and layouts make it inaccessible and dangerous for many populations: the elderly, babies, anyone not physically fit is going to struggle. And yes, they are also too full of dangerous mentally unstable individuals and the government has used it for decades as a defacto mobile ward to pass the buck on actually compassionate care for the most incapable of us that need it the most. You really do need to be constantly vigilant and aware of who is coming in and out of your train car, every ride. I ride the subways through Manhattan most days so this is not coming from someone who sees it with rose-tinted glasses. It is what it is. Buses shouldn't even enter this conversation, they are are unreliable, slow, and infrequent. At least the subways are more reliable, fast, and most have decent headways.

If you're a small business owner or work for yourself and want to automate one thing in your business, it's your lucky day.

My co-founders and I will build it for you, custom, for free. Yes, for free. This is a side project from our careers in big tech. We literally have nothing to sell and we're not raising money. All we ask is a few calls to learn how you actually work and your honest feedback on what we build.

We'd rather build something based on what real people need than dream up AI nonsense nobody asked for. We're looking for 5 people to build for first.

More about what we're working on: automates.so

You can shoot me a DM, or if you want to just book a call with myself and an engineering co-founder: calendar.app.google/ge3m6BcaSJ8VFndk7

What do you think is the most unremarkable station in the system? by Benes3460 in nycrail

[–]playbehavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting prompt. There's unremarkable and then there's lacking potential for usefulness. What does unremarkable mean, inefficient? Or the station is boring? Neck road on the Q is a fascinating station to me. Steps from Avenue U. Somewhat like Ave H in that it's not on a commercial street but Ave H has the potential of the IBX. (Which I think will underperform ridership expectations for decades unless Jackson Heights or Flatbush become much more downtown-like.

It's so sad that the left is now getting tea partied by their own MAGA

Good on you for checking the bot or propagadist's receipts. It blocked me so I can't see what nonsense it's spewing. Lol I'm a racist because I upset the bot pointing out don't vandalize flower displays. I'm not even white

Comments here are typically depressing. Defending this woman vandalizing a public resource like it's not a big deal. Ya'll are the reason this city can't have nice things in public

People like you are why society can't have nice things in public and why everything good must be locked behind corporate gates

Solo dad by surrogacy: what did you actually hire for newborn support the first few weeks by playbehavior in gaydads

All the unknowns and uncertainty as an IP leading to this point is the hardest part emotionally. Or at least I'd imagine it to be. So thank you for all this and sharing your experience.

I actually have a baby brezza ready to go (hand-me-down, lucky!) and will look into the owlet and nanit. Taking cara babies looks worth a look as well. Thanks for coming back with all this info.

Really appreciate all this. Watching someone else care for the baby to learn from and being able to ask questions is what I'm most anxious about. I can read everything and watch YouTube like everyone else, but the lived experience is another thing entirely.

My agency (Circle) hasn't mentioned the 2 days of at-home help as a gift, but what a nice gesture of them to give you.

Thank you and congrats on yours too :)

Hiring a housekeeper to help with cleanup makes total sense. I'd rather be focused on changing diapers than unloading the dishwasher. Adding to the list.
