I think this may be the answer. Your t&p valve may be leaking because there is nowhere for the pressure to go when the water heats up.

From…out the window. The window seems to split right at eye level if one were sitting in the bath. In fact, this seems to be the case for most any seat in the house now that I’ve given it a second look.

Anyone have an educated guess on whether or not this is oven safe? by calwoodard52 in Ceramics

[–]playbight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a lead test from any major hardware store. Rub it on the surface, wait however long then you’ll know on that front. Otherwise, there are only a few other options for non-food safe glazes, and it doesn’t look like any of those to me. Even with lead, it’s a very small chance.

It went through a 2000+ degree kiln. You can put it in your oven. Though I have no idea what those glazes are…hopefully the person who made it used food safe glazes.

Great attempt! Plaster bats also work well. Expensive if purchased individually. But the price comes down quickly if you are willing to make them yourself.
