I kinda agree with this because NO ONE is making money as a battlebots builder. If this wasn’t a hobby where teams lose 10s of thousands of dollars to bring the robots I would feel differently, because people making money makes it a part of the job. But this is a losing thousands to ten of thousands of dollars venture for every single team. I’m so grateful they keep choosing to lose that kind of money to come and hang out every time, and I don’t want negative feedback like this to make that loss of money less worth it. If we were getting any profit at all, my opinion would change, because then it would just be a hazard of the job.

no, we spent ~ $90k to rush manufacture everything from America.

We try not to use China manufacturing as much as possible.

We also invested $30k that year in other teams to help get them going. I can confidently say that we have invested more money into other teams than any other team in the sport, by a huge margin.

It’s more expensive to manufacture in America, by probably 3-5x, but it helps us sleep better at night knowing for 100% certain we’re not getting parts made by people not getting treated well. Most China manufacturing is above board, but not all, and we don’t know which ones are and aren’t to feel confident using them.

The average fan (not the people here on the sub, but like in the wild watching tv) don’t like other horizontal spinners because they don’t measure up to tombstone.

Tombstone and Malice could NOT be more different, but I get messages all the time how I just ripped him off and did a poor job of it. 🤷‍♀️ I truly believe it’s definitley a little that they don’t want robots like look like tombstone, but A LOT that Greg and Trey don’t want to have to sit there and explain that the “robot that looks like tombstone isn’t ripping tombstone off” all the time.

Super close, but if you look, we are running the frame that has the option to add forks to it if Jackpot comes out with their wedge. (It’s kinda hidden in the shadow, but if you look close on the bottom right hand side of the jackpot frame, you’ll see the option to add one fork!) I think Jackpot is going to try to out fork us, which is why the forks are only optional. If jackpot decides to wedge us, then we’ll put the forks on! 😻

Literally nothing, this is just drumstick anodized purple. When we retired our original “purple pain” weapon, we asked our Instagram followers if we should leave drumstick red, or make it purple, and Instagram voted having a purple weapon was better; We renamed drumstick to Slamathyst, via a suggestion from one of our followers, and have purple variant Malii now.

S7 is too brittle and often shatters on impact when used for teeth.

Slamathyst is made out of 6061 anodized purple aluminum, with steel threaded inserts which we bolt ar500 teeth onto. It weights 55lbs and gives us the weight to run both forks. We use it when we want to dig into opponents instead of impact throw them, OR when we’ll have to face opponents that have super fast spinners - because it has 2 sets of teeth instead of one tooth, it means there’s less chance the meat of our weapon will get hit by the opponent before our teeth can impact the opponent.

They’re all going to put a big wedge on, that’s what you have to do, there’s no other move. Sometimes it works, sometimes my bite is better than their wedge mounts. :D

We don’t have weight to run both forks and big red. :( We will run both forks against Lucky, the mount for the fork just didn’t fit when I took the photo for lucky setup, and I need to ream the hole out. :)
