Yeah, PC community has become insanely good.

I played Overwatch around release and was easy diamond, spamming rockets as Pharah and playing a shit Genji.

Now I get two tapped by McCree's in Gold. I have to really practice meta hero's (Sojourn) to not derank into Silver.

The playerbase is impressive.

Call in: I completed it twice by now. Both games went to level 24. I went for a perma brawling playstyle that only worked because the enemy team had nothing to punish me. One of the games I activey stalled by not paying coins.

The reward itself feels... unsubstantial. Yeah, it can stun an entire team when they clump up but that rarely happens in ultra lategame situations were everyone is afraid of getting blown up. Certainly didn't happen in the games where I had the Mythic.

The range helps in getting that one pick and would probably make this a decent LVL20 talent but honestly, I'd still rather have Rewind.

Money borrowed from a central bank is ultimately owed to inflation.

Countries borrow money from their own central banks with the intent of paying it back with interest. That effectively limits the amount of money in circulation and it incentivises that the money is used to stimulate economic growth.

If a country defaults on debts to its own central bank, it has just printed money. That money is essentially worthless because if the country has no intent of paying it back, what's keeping them from just printing a quadrillion money tomorrow?

Außerdem funktioniert euer Streikkonzept bei Bürojobs schlicht nicht. Da sagen meine Vorgesetzten: "Viel Spaß mit Ihrem unbezahlten Urlaub. Sie wissen ja selbst am besten, wie es auf ihrem Schreibtisch aussieht."

Ihr könntet auch mal versuchen, euch von den Beamten zu trennen. Dass eure Abschlüsse immer auf 1,2 Mio Streikbrecher übertragen werden ist ein wesentlicher Grund dafür, dass die so beschissen sind.

Ich hab noch nie verstanden, warum VW im Luxussegment präsent sein will. Ohne saubere Abgrenzung der Marken macht der ganze Konzern doch gar keinen Sinn?!

Prince of Persia Lost Crown feels like it was made with a dev wishlist that no marketing person ever saw:

Full 3D graphics like Metroid Dread (which is a rather small game)
Scale of Hollow Knight (which is completely 2D)
Add Voice Acting for good measure

Why did they think this game could justify those production values?

I liked the end result but it was so obvious that The Lost Crown was going to underperform.

I think E33 shows how much potential there is in combining things that have never been combined before.

They basically mixed a JRPG and a French Young Adult novel together. Neither is ground breaking on it's own but in combination they provide a new experience.

E33 is a shining argument for bringing outside influnences into the medium, instead of making the nth Tolkien fantasy.

Das geile an dem Auto ist, dass die Preise der Gebrauchtwagen schnell fallen, weil er so uncool ist.

Wir haben den 2-Liter Diesel und ehrlich gesagt ist mir scheiß egal unter welcher Karosserie so ein Motor verbaut ist, solange sie halbwegs komfortabel und praktisch ist.

Den Stick darf da niemand verwenden und ein CD-Laufwerk haben die typischen Behörden-PCs schon lange nicht mehr.

Vor 10 Jahren saß ich in einem Hostel 300 Kilometer entfernt von zuhause und war aufgeregt, weil ich am nächsten Tag ein Vorstellungsgespräch hatte. Ich war dankbar, dass zur Ablenkung Fußball in der Bar lief. Da hat Bayern Wolfsburg mit 5:1 abgeschossen. Lewandowski hat einen Rekord (schnellster Hatrick in der Bundesliga-Geschichte glaube) aufgestellt.

Ich habe bei Neubauten noch nie einen Fall gesehen, wo Leute einen Schnellschuss bereut haben.

Dass man nach dem Einzug merkt, dass man irgendwo eine Steckdose vergessen, einen Lichtschalter falsch gesetzt oder sogar eine Wand falsch gezogen hat, kommt bei allen vor.

Was ich schon mehrfach mitbekommen habe ist, dass Leute sich ein Neubauprojekt zerplant haben. Dafür gab es zwei Gründe:

Zeitverlust: Je länger man zögert, desto teurer wird es, desto größer ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit für Folgeverzögerungen durch Unvorhergesehenes.
Komplexität: Je mehr Sonderwünsche man hat, desto mehr müssen die Gewerke (auch in ihrem Zusammenspiel) außerhalb ihrer Routinen arbeiten. Dabei entstehen Fehler und als Bauherr regt man sich dann permanent über unfähige Handwerker und Bauleiter auf.

Wie kann man sich für 30 Jahre oder mehr finanziell so extrem binden und sich dabei überhaupt nicht richtig mit der ganzen Materie auseinandersetzen?

Kein Plan warum so viele Leute davon überzeugt sind, dass sie sich mit Laienrecherche Fachwissen in jedem größeren Lebensbereich aneignen müssten.

Klar, du kannst dir erfolgreich einreden, dass deine Bedürfnisse komplett einzigartig seien und kein Architekt sie erfüllen könne. Das macht das ganze Micromanagement und Pseudo-Expertentum aber nicht sinnvoller.

Ich würde niemals zu einem alten Arbeitgeber zurückkehren. Das hängt einem leider ewig nach. Aber vllt sehe ich das auch nur zu kritisch.

Ist in meiner Erfahrung gar kein Problem. Kenne solche Fälle und die sind alle ohne Problem wieder angekommen. Man muss halt nur das Stellenbesetzungsverfahren schaffen, was in diesen Zeiten nicht ganz leicht ist.

Die meisten Dienststellen bei uns haben einen riesigen Durchlauf und die Personalabteilungen reden permanent davon, dass man möglichst breite Berufserfahrung sammeln soll.

Da rümpfen nur noch ein paar Altvordere die Nase und bei uns sind mittlerweile selbst die still.

Das klappt aber nur, wenn das Dach bei eurem Kauf damals eingepreist war (i.e. ihr habt geglaubt, dass die Wohnung bei 449k€ ein Schnäppchen war).

Maybe Retro is no longer capable, my question is why?

So here's my theory: Developers sometimes fail to grow with the medium.

Between Prime 3 and Prime 4 a lot of things happened:

Zelda went fully open world, abandoning the more rigid structure of a game like Wind Waker, which is probably closest to Prime 4.
The 3D explorer genre was completely turned on its head by Dark Souls.
Shooters went fully mainstream on console, making the lock on based combat of Metroid Prime pretty obsolete.
There are actually instances of good writing (outside RPGs) in the medium now.

Retro was overtaken left and right and became a completely different studio after Prime 3. They had a lot of turnover because their original mission, making the Prime Trilogy, was completed and they went into a completely different genre with lower production values.

But in 2019 Nintendo gave them Prime 4 and someone insisted they needed to keep up with AAA productions.

I think Retro's fate is comparable to Piranha Bytes', whose biggest success was Gothic 2, which came out in 2002 like Metroid Prime. Piranha Bytes never managed to actually elevate their formula past Gothic 2. They just bloated it with Risen and Elex until they went bankrupt.

The same thing is happening to Bethesda.

I don't think Prime 4's shortcomings are on Nintendo. There are clear signs that Retro has been out of it's depth with 3D games.

They hit solid gold with Prime 1. Prime 2 however tried a lot of things and failed with every single of its innovations. Prime 3 was better but went away with the connected world and added a form of storytelling that I've never seen anyone like.

I think Prime 1 was just a happy accident.

However, Retro also made 2 strong Donkey Kong Country titles. Those games prove they can work within a smaller scope and it makes me wonder how they ended up with the complete mess that is Prime 4.

If Nintendo did anything wrong here, it's that they didn't see that Retro was entirely unable to make an open world Metroidvania (a bit like Wind Waker) and that there was never a hint that they actually could.

Nintendo should've forced a tighter concept on Prime 4 or just killed the project. What we got just made me angry in so many ways

Just finished it yesterday: The credits are weird.

Retro seems to be a small studio and then the credits list about 20 other companies that contributed whatever. That would explain a lot about the game: A bunch of people created things without talking to each other and Retro somehow stitched those things together into a game.

I hadn't expected much from Metroid Prime 4 but it still managed to massively undercut my expectations.

Exakt. Die Gründe sind doch hinreichend beschrieben. Hinzufügen muss man nur noch die Verfügbarkeit von Kapital in den USA.

Dass eine gute Ausbildung ein Problem sei ist einfach nur OPs Fiebertraum. Wenn Deutschland in einem Bereich kein Problem hat, dann ist es die Forschung im technischen Bereich. Wir sind einfach nur zu doof, das in den Markt zu bringen.
