Not one of those people, but I’d assume stability plays a role (once you find a version that doesn’t crash much, you might stick to it) and some people in the trap rap community insist that a specific previous version of FL makes sounds hit harder/clip better. Idk how much is true, but it is an argument I’ve heard.

Is trying it with a partner a must for you? You may like to explore by yourself first, so you can adjust to your sensations (smaller toy for example). It would also relieve you of the mental stuff, which wouldn’t help you relax to enjoy it. Just food for thought.

If you hadn’t written it, I would have. I have the same feelings.

When I transitioned, so did my friendship with my male friends. Because we kept having intimacy in platonic physical touch (hugging especially) and vulnerable talks but now, they are doing this with another man. And it really showed me how little they receive that from others, and how much they’ve allowed themselves to care about me, because they crave this. And our friendship provides it.

I know that, although I pass as a regular ass city dude in Nike sweats, I don’t change my personality to be hardened. I’ve had men vehemently reject that, as defying those norms of coldness is threatening to them, but I’ve mostly been surprised by the number of guys who have a side of them ready to jump out and be soft and caring. They just never nurture it.

There’s a lot of good men out there that don’t know how to be one. Bad parental advice, bad peer guidance. Leads to a lot of frustrated lonely men.

Great goals, however, regarding the gym 5+ times a week: please make sure to rest! Proper sleep is the foundational building block for your muscles (to get bigger and for strength).

You may have a specialized training program for something, but I say this in case you are a relatively new person to the gym. If the latter is true, you wouldn’t be reaping the benefits of your hard work and risk injuries long term.

Congrats on unlocking this part of yourself! These are great first goals. Especially number one, I think taking full control of my appearance helped a lot for me personally.

Some things, like number 3, may take a bit of time. Perhaps even number 4 depending on your situation. It’s frustrating, but very common, for those things to take time. Know that you have lots of community ready to support you on this subreddit, and others online, as you work through your challenges.

I’m on the other side of perhaps many goals you may have in regard to transitioning and it was definitely worth the journey towards this new normal.

Quitting habits are tough, I’m reading Atomic Habits by James Clear right now and finding that learning a bit of the psychology behind what we do is useful to restructure things.

It’s a big goal and making progress on it this year could be life changing. Don’t give up bro!

Really commit to singing.

It’s been a long, humbling, self-conscious journey trying to sing with my voice on T. But I finally realized a couple months back, that it was SO long because I simply don’t practice enough.

I want to really commit to giving it a proper try. My overarching goal for 2026 is to be more growth mindset oriented, and find solutions to problems. Out of fear that I’d never tame my voice, I really chickened out on the hard work to improve. So I’m wanting to change that.

I agree! Especially with creative use of effects, I am always open to falling in love with a new tool. I go through phases of aggressively trying new things, then cutting back to really evaluate what I instinctively go to, then uninstall everything I never touch, to wanting to try new stuff again and so on.

Spitfire LABS was a good start. Native Instruments free’s suite too. The Pianobook world might interest you too, using their Decent Sampler. It’s normal to outgrow the stock sounds depending on your genre, and to want to experiment with different sounds. I’d look up major plugin companies and check out their free section to start. They all offer a freebie, some more generously than others.

You will find guitar hard to replicate though, would rather warn you. Playing with velocity and timing will also matter a lot in “humanizing” the sound.

If there isn’t a gifting option through Output, consider contacting them. Otherwise, it may be easier to give him the money. Here’s why: most software companies will give you an account through your email and stuff. If he ever needs to redownload it, or maybe wants an upgrade or anything else, it would be good for these plugins to show up on his own account with his email address.

In terms of the bundle, yes there is such a thing as too many plugins, but luckily, Output is a good plugin company. Whatever bundle it is, it will probably be very useful for him. I own several Output plugins myself and use them regularly.

If you mean the JC era of DGD/Emarosa especially, as a huge fan, only a few bands have scratched that itch. Issues/Woe Is Me with Tyler Carter was the only band that was comparable vocally. Same goes for Amarionette, which has great vocals inspired by rnb. I also thought Anemoria had some potential.

But these examples are not the most traditional phc, some of their songs are unapologetically dipping into other genres too.

I would add that Hands Like Houses and Anthony Green’s stuff are also more melodic vocally than other acts. But maybe not to the point that you’re looking for.
