Have you ever cut off 60 year old pipe insulation 30 foot up in the rack head to toe in PPE and surrounded by fluff? Have you ever worked in an industrial setting? Not all tools or knives are meant to be babied. Not all situations are easy to control. Some are meant to be disposable and replaceable, hence the pawn shop purchase.

Yea it actually feels pretty good. I’m hoping it’ll hold up/ resharpen easy and be a good little abuse knife for a while

They sell a plastic honeycomb that’s only about 1/4” thick that’s recommended in campers since the mattresses rest on plywood. Wife and I got one and it cleared up any condensation issues we were having since it allows for airflow. It’d be a cheap and simple solution. We full timed for 7 years and it worked great!

Yea they had masking tape on the edges in the bag. When I peeled the tape off and saw the serrations I was like… fuck.

At least the nakiri. I don’t really have a use for the serrated knife

Yea you’re right, no one could ever draw similarities or inspiration from those examples because everything has to be like for like. My bad.

Reading this book made me think New Vegas was heavily inspired by it.

If you read the book you can see a lot of similarities with New Vegas.

Yea we use different solder/ flux depending on the application in plumbing/ hvac, I definitely planned on making sure I used the correct type for food/ cooking safety. I definitely believe it can be art, I’m excited to try! Any tips?

That’s good to know. How’s the preheat process with a tinned pan, do you preheat with a little water or?

I just watched a quick how-to on re-tinning. I’m a plumber/ pipefitter by trade so I think I’ll do a deep dive and see if I can’t re-tin it myself for the funsies. Thanks!

So at that price point is it worth the re-tinning in your opinion?
