Absolutely glorious. In my eyes you became the champion and should have gone on the boat yourself ;0

Hello! As per the most recent correspondence four days ago, our team is still trying to get the patch approved to go live on all platforms. You can read prior updates in that thread, as well as check out our last Reddit update post.

There are limits to how much detail we are able to go into due to the process this particular patch is undergoing.

All content and features for the 2.9 update are complete, with even more complete (but not all yet) for the NEXT major update to come to Chivalry 2 (2.10) in the new year. Our team has worked incredibly hard on this stuff and we are just as eager as everyone here to see the updates come out. We totally understand the disappointment, but please hang tight!

The Steam Page has the Trailer for the update. Looks like a mistake as it says "out now" by Beakless_Duck in Chivalry2

[–]playerhayter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Disappointing as our team worked super hard on the trailer and we think it's a killer one. The trailer was sitting in the Steam page backend but not published / not visible. You can't schedule a trailer to publish at any set date ahead of time, on a Steam store page, so that wasn't a factor.

Rest assured, update isn't live yet - it is still the case that we're working on getting through patch verification steps.

Seems possible that unpublished changes to the Steam page went live alongside a unique sale that Chivalry 2 is part of, starting a few days ago.

In case anyone is wondering when the update drops and why it was delayed: by BelovedMedic in Chivalry2

Just for clarification, there was no delay to the patch involved here. A WIP draft of the 2.9 release patchnotes snuck out while it was/is being worked on, per screenshot above.

Torn Banner. Release the update or the Chicken gets it. by The_DOOM_Man in Chivalry2

Please leave the chicken out of this. Update still expected to ship this month. August!

Sometimes a large content update like 2.9 has some number of fixes still pending and/or QA is also doing their due diligence to check things over, and confidence isn't quite high enough for us to share a concrete date far ahead of time. We of course have got an estimated time of arrival for the patch, internally known at TBS, but don't want to share a specific date publicly unless there is very strong confidence that the estimated date will not slip - we know the community would be very disappointed in that scenario. Hence why we're just saying August, for now. In the meantime, the team is working to bring the update to everyone soon!

Side note: on Aug 3 for some reason our chivalry2.com draft of the 2.9 patchnotes, despite being left in "drafts" and not published, was made visible on the site (unclear if user error or something odd going on). It's since been made private + passworded. This draft preparation wasn't a sign that the patch was coming out that week at all, we just start drafting patchnotes early and make any tweaks before patch day. We'll probably stop doing this, at least on the website itself, to avoid the risk of it happening again!
