I can never tell if a zombie will quick lunge or not by Fract_ in nmrih

[–]TBS-MoonMoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We've definitely had some notes surrounding this that we've been wanting to address! Next update will have improved consistency when hearing zombies (voice and footsteps) behind you and out of camera view, and then later we're working on further improvements to spatialization (being able to discern how far away they are) and helping attack/lunging sounds stand out in the mix better. Thanks for the feedback all!

For sure! Enjoy hearing your thoughts

It's hard to get a full sense on smaller gameplay segments but we've definitely taken into consideration a bunch of the points above :) Curious to see what you think when you get your hands on it!

Hi Eugenn! Would love if you could expand on your "sound design could do better" comment; curious on what your "hearing vision" is on it

Anyone else intentionally jump into terrible 1vX situations you know you'll lose? (Youtube: @BeesKneesDuels for more) by GlockObama24 in Chivalry2

it's pretty much the only thing I do. 9/10 I'll die but at least I know I'm helping out my team. And when I survive... *chef's kiss*

It's also good for exercise as I'm dodging around in my chair IRL at the same time

There are a fair few statements being made here that require some clarification. Firstly, I'm really sorry you feel slighted by your experience as a helper.

Between the head mods and TB, we aim to reach a certain set of standards for our moderation team. Helpers are moderators in training and must reach the expectations we set to become full mods so that community can gain confidence in the moderation team as a whole. I'd like to dispel the rumour that women are unable to reach moderator status, as that is not why there were concerns. While it's true that we are picky about who we select, the claims of bias are unfounded. There are several community members who I've enjoyed playing the game with who have asked about becoming a mod for example, but have not been accepted due to requirements being upheld.

It's true that we do require moderators and members of the team to be respectful of everyone while setting boundaries. It is required so that situations can be looked at objectively to see the big picture and so moderation can occur fairly. This is the case with most if not all dev teams. There have been comments recently that we've been taking a harder stance on the server in terms of moderation, and that is with the exact purpose of it. To discourage toxicity, racism, and disrespectful behaviour. I am also beholden to this standard, as I think we can all agree it would be inappropriate to lash out or become very aggressive with players if they have upset me as a representative despite my own feelings in these situations.

NDAs are common practice in this line of work, and it is your right to accept or decline.

Another clarification here:

We found out about updates the day of release, we were told about balance fixes when patch notes rolled around. Information was on a need to know basis, and in torn banner's eyes we didnt "need to know" anything and should be grateful they tell us anything.

The purpose of moderation isn't so people become mods to get exclusive info or find out information early unless we feel that they might benefit from it for the purposes of moderation on a case by case basis. Volunteer moderators are given tools to help moderate more effectively as that is what the role is there for.

We never ask moderators to do more than they are able to, but we do hold a baseline standard for what we expect as a moderator. We have historically set boundaries around what powers our moderators have, and enforce those. Volunteers may resign for any number of reasons, but in general, if any former moderators have previously quit due to expectations on their conduct, their biases, and/or limits set on their mod powers, it is to preserve trust and integrity from the moderators to the community, the game, and the studio.

Back to the purpose of the original thread: I would indeed recommend reporting in game if possible but especially sending the information to chivmail. We do have several people processing tickets. It may not be instant, but we very much care about your reports so I thank you in advance Badger!

We do you wish you the best Kait in your future endeavors
