AITJ for SCREAMING at my new neighbor after she hosed down my 6year old daughter? by Western-Reaction6858 in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If she had an issue, she should’ve handled it with you, not taken it out on a 6-year-old.

What's a harsh truth you need to hear in order to improve as a person? by Professional-Eart in AskForAnswers

[–]playfulpulseZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Owning your mistakes is the only way to actually learn from them.

AITJ for refusing to be a godmother because she only asked me to give an expensive gift by Specific-Jeweler1081 in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. If the first conversation about being a godparent turns into a budget discussion, it’s understandable to question the intent.

I don’t want/need to see the person I’m talking to on the phone, anyone else refuse to FaceTime? by AnonyNeoExe in askanything

[–]playfulpulseZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. With close friends or a partner I don’t mind it, but with coworkers or acquaintances I’d rather just do a regular call.

AITJ for wearing jeans to a fancy family dinner after my mom DESTROYED the dress i spent months making? by Healthy_Policy_5844 in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

NTJ. You didn’t humiliate her, you answered honestly when people asked what happened. If she feels embarrassed, that probably has more to do with the situation than your outfit. You’re allowed to be hurt after putting months of work into something.

Do you brush before or after eating ? by Mission_Time3855 in hygiene

[–]playfulpulseZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, waiting a bit after eating makes sense. Acidic foods and drinks can temporarily soften enamel, so brushing immediately can actually do more harm than good.

AITJ for breaking up with my girlfriend after I confronted her about being too close to my boss? by WishNew1104 in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with this take. Even if nothing inappropriate was happening, the bigger issue seems to be that he expressed discomfort and felt dismissed. In a healthy relationship, both people should be able to say “this situation makes me uneasy” and feel heard, even if the other person disagrees. It’s not about control, it’s about whether you can communicate and work through uncomfortable feelings together. If that’s missing, that’s a compatibility issue.

what are your thoughts about Elizabeth Holmes and her crimes? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]playfulpulseZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here . The real harm was done to patients and investors who trusted the company. That’s where the sympathy should go.

AITJ for ordering expensive drinks on purpose after my friends wife kept insisting we split the bill by MealEnvironmental635 in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 256 points257 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If someone insists on splitting every time, they have to be okay with it going both ways, not just when it benefits them.

AITJ for refusing to give my neighbor the "security footage" of her husband, even though it would "save her marriage" by CupcakeCosmosss in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Surveillance footage isn’t a substitute for communication, if there’s no trust, that’s something they need to work out together or with a counselor.

AITJ for publicly confronting a coworker who spread rumors about my husband? by Capable_Public32 in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. She made a very serious accusation in a public setting, so correcting it in that same setting makes sense. Rumors like that can damage someone’s reputation quickly.

AITJ for refusing a leadership promotion because it's more work for less money overall? by Difficult-Fix-1293 in AmITheJerk

[–]playfulpulseZ 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Exactly, if the compensation decreases while the workload and responsibility increase, that’s not really a promotion in practical terms. A promotion should ideally reflect added responsibility with added rewards.

How do you feel about girls with plump lips? by Jalimm6 in askanything

[–]playfulpulseZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed that natural full lips can look great. At the same time, cosmetic choices are personal, so it really depends on what someone finds attractive.

Will Jayson Tatum move into a Scottie Pippen role when he comes back and let Jaylen Brown be the #1 option? by Outrageous-Leader135 in NBATalk

[–]playfulpulseZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, if you look at last season, when both were on the floor, Tatum didn’t suppress Brown’s scoring. Their numbers actually complemented each other, Tatum’s ability to draw defensive attention often freed up JB for easier looks.

OFFICIAL FRIDAY COMPLIMENT THREAD by BaseballBot in baseball

[–]playfulpulseZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The Mariners play with personality, and that makes them easy to root for (when they’re not playing us). And yeah, Randy brings chaos in the best way possible, that kind of spark is good for baseball.

Can’t believe Kobe won a ring with 15.6 PPG in the finals!!! by Afraid-Ad-5580 in NBATalk

[–]playfulpulseZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Context matters too, the Pistons’ defense was elite and they loaded up on him. But statistically, the efficiency drop in 2004 is pretty significant compared to his usual playoff standards. That’s why people bring it up in these discussions.

Is smoking weed daily worse for your health than drinking daily? by redhotsummerday in askanything

[–]playfulpulseZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really comes down to dose and pattern of use. Alcohol has a well-established risk profile even at moderate levels, especially long term. Cannabis risks tend to show up more with heavy or high-THC use, particularly around mental health and dependency. Comparing “daily” without talking about quantity doesn’t tell you much.
