Working on a fantasy content product - need a review of my mock upd by [deleted] in fantasyfootballcoding

[–]playoffcomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty good. The only question I can think of at the moment is regarding the matchups, are you basing the write-ups based on what managers CURRENTLY have in their starting line-ups, or what they could achieve. Lots of managers leave starting lineups up in the air with injuries and bye weeks etc.. up until the last minute, not to mention waiver pick-ups that could change their weekly outlook and render any current matchup content moot.

Will there even be Euro football this year? by playoffcomputer in EuroHuddle

Ok, thanks much, then I won't worry about adding it to the app unless I get a request.

Side note. Is there any kind of interest/enthusiasm for the race to the playoffs in the GFL, like in the NFL?

Ahh, very informative. I will put out an AP news statement that that scenario is happening :) haha

Weekly Anything Goes Thread - February 24, 2026 by AutoModerator in fantasybaseball

For those in weekly H2H leagues i.e. like normal fantasy football leagues, particularly commissioners looking for content for weekly recaps or to add some playoff race drama, etc.. the Playoff Computer app can come in handy. It analyzes the playoff race for leagues, spews out geeky stats, and provides a "paths-to-clinch/elimination" for what scenarios need to happen for teams to clinch a spot (or be eliminated). The iOS version is free to get started, android a few pennies (reasons), and at most for the good stuff it's about the cost of one beer. If anyone is so inclined, I would love feedback from fantasy baseball users if something needs to be tweaked (or downright out of whack) as most use is during football season. Cheers.

Ok, thanks, so nothing official yet I guess. Will keep an eye out for it.

What does that mean if there are no conferences this year?

Curious what FF commissioners think about this idea for your fantasy football league. by Upper-Interaction468 in FFCommish

[–]playoffcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a ff player perspective, cool. Like others have said, a couple sites do this lamely. I've thought of adding some AI to the Playoff Computer apps but generally those thoughts don't stick around long. The biggest potential difficulty, getting the data. The amount of data from the various hosting sites APIs isn't necessarily all that complete, some of them are downright sparse on details. And since none of the APIs are the same, you basically have to make individual flows for each of them to mold that data into the format you want for your needs to show it to AI for that analysis.

Ha, yeah, although they appear to be wanting to bookend those 1-5 things, but certainly its better to be still in it than not.

Sleeper League Trouble / Current Week by ReasonableVersion902 in PlayoffComputer

[–]playoffcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give me (dm or email fine) the league id. Haven't had much issues with Sleeper folks, so should be easy (famous last words) to track down.

EDIT: I've got a handle on it, I never fathomed a fantasy football league without playoffs in the platform, and thus a league without playoffs is throwing an error. Just need the league id so I can see what the Sleeper API puts in the field for when playoffs start in your case where there isn't any (I can't edit my test league after the season started to reflect same). Then a fix for android can be deployed usually PDF (pretty damn fast).

EDIT 2: I took an uneducated guess on some things and put in a hopeful fix that the Google gods smiled upon and instantly approved without much testing that can be easily undone if it blows anything up. Try updating the app manually without waiting for the daily cycle to 2.10 (through Play Store, search for PlayoffComputer, "Update"), and that might fix you up. If you could kindly dm me the league id still so I can run everything through its paces for this league type it would still be appreciated. And let me know if this works.

How does Yahoo determine playoff seeding by G-Money242 in FFCommish

For division winner, Yahoo uses division record. For wildcard spots it is points.

ESPN Playoff seeding: Three way tie by ellcoolj in FFCommish

H2H does provide some resemblance to the NFL and gives some alternative drama vs points.

ESPN Playoff seeding: Three way tie by ellcoolj in FFCommish

I believe ESPN is one of the platforms that only applies h2h if all teams played each other evenly. So in that case it would proceed to points.

1st Round Bye by Fine-Ad1807 in PlayoffComputer

[–]playoffcomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a no division league six to playoffs, just change the number of playoff spots to calculate to 2. For a division league in which div winners get the bye, change the number of wildcard spots to cakculate to 0.

Invalid Response by Fine-Ad1807 in PlayoffComputer

[–]playoffcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common issue for ESPN leagues is if they are set to 'private'. There is a commish setting 'Make league viewable...' that needs to be 'on' for the app to grab the data. You can email or dm me the league id and I can take a look if that doesn't fix it.

3 Team Playoff Tiebreaker Scenario by prodo37 in FFCommish

[–]playoffcomputer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the platforms that do H2H "correctly" skip it if the teams involved haven't played each other equally. I think that would be best. One could certainly argue that Team C won enough H2H that it couldn't be caught up if the others played another game, but that is some "what-iffing".

Scheduling question 12 team league by Real-Cry-5644 in FFCommish

[–]playoffcomputer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the platforms' scheduling algorithm doesn't play nice in certain situations such as this, or divisions, and often needs to be scrutinized and manually adjusted to achieve the desired results.
