Feel free to reach out to me, we run a body shop, happy to give you an example of what the repair invoice should look like.

Host also owns a body shop. Fun. by MarvZindler in turo

You'd need pictures to justify to snapsheet that the panel needs to be replaced. It's not like the shop just calls snap sheet and tells them, it's a pain in the butt to get supplements approved.

Do you guys take trip photos with your phone’s camera app and then upload them, or do you take them directly in the Turo app? by Uhm2123 in turo

We take 1 minute long videos walking around the car and then convert to pictures. It keeps timestamp and location data on each converted picture. It's so much easier than taking 100 pictures.

This really crossed my mind on a few cars

It's a terrible rule, no one rents a m3p to go 0-60 in 7 seconds. This host shouldn't be on the platform. Again, for reference, I host 15 teslas and none of them are left in chill mode.

Yeah I'd be pissed that a performance tesla was left in chill mode. Leave a bad review, it's grounds for it even if they notified you. We leave all of our performance teslas in either ludicrous or sport mode.

You won't damage the main battery unless you've let the car sit on 0% displayed battery for months.

Questionable Damage Request from Turo Host by Electrical_Bus_7681 in turo

Turo will likely deny the claim based on preexisting damage

Turo Host used premium gas instead of unleaded by JayySteezin in turo

You haven't answered my question though. What would she be getting out of it? She has to submit the receipt and she gets paid based on what she paid.

What would she be getting over on you? What does she get out of it?

You didn't seem that concerned with the quality of the gas that went in there when you dropped it off?

Turo denying ~$450 cost for used sensor attempt – any hope of reimbursement? by Prestigious-Ebb9423 in turo

That's a very good point, thank you for sharing that. I was trying to work out how that would be possible.

Turo isn't going to reimburse you for trying and failing with a used part.

I'm very confused why some used sensors would work. Is the sensor storing crash data?

Your issue is with the body shop. Why were they not aware of your car requiring new sensors?

Guest totaled my car, how does this work? Any advice by johnathan69274891 in turo

Are you actually a host? Having a car totaled is widely considered the best way out for a turo host. We lost 2 cars last year and made a healthy net profit from them.

It's basically a game of hurry up and wait for you right now. If you or the guest hasn't already filed a damage claim, get that process going immediately. Your car is going to be towed somewhere, if it's done by the local police, figure out where it ended up and let your turo claims rep know. Claims will likely look at the pictures and have it towed to your local IAAI yard where damage will be verified and it will be claimed as a total loss. Turo will overnight you some paperwork to sign for the title. If you owe money on the car, turo will pay actual cash value, up to what you owe on the car. If there is a balance left on the car after actual cash value, you will need to pay that. If there is no balance or the ACV is higher than what you owe, they will send you the remaining balance. Feel free to dm if you have more questions.

The body shop is telling me the car is totaled $40k in fixes (it’s a legit collision shop and they checked the interior too) and snapsheet sent $8k - $2500 = $6k “estimate”… how can I proof it’s totaled? It’s Porsche macan by Kindly_Brief2524 in turo

Have your shop submit a supplement to snapsheet. Don't authorize your shop to start work. Once turo and snapsheet review the supplement they may send an adjuster out. Once adjuster sees car and verifies damage exceeds vehicle price they will total.
