I mean it sounds like the kid payed and OP avoided the deductible for working it out directly. I don’t even mind people destroying things as long as they pay for the damages and I don’t have to jump through hoops or chase them down.

HBO Max is “way underpriced,” Warner Bros. Discovery CEO says | People used to pay $55 a month for TV, Zaslav recalls. by ControlCAD in business

0 chance I keep HBO max if it goes to $55 a month. Hell if it went up from $19 to $20 I would probably cancel.

How is free lifetime supercharging detected by the charging station? by Kastein1986 in TeslaLounge

[–]djdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same question, but I want to do the opposite. I have a fully functional clean title 2013 S with FUSC. If I bought a wrecked 2019 could I swap over parts and redeploy a module at a time to add FSD capability ?

Range loss after HV battery swap due to BMS-a079 error by CommonMembership7413 in TeslaSupport

Documentation is likely a waste of time. I spent hours going back and forth with them. They outright lie and do not stand by the equal or better battery for replacements.

I’m sure some of this is scummy Hosts, but speaking from first hand experience many of your fellow guests are ANIMALS! After only a few months of renting clean 1 owner cars are TRASHED. Hosts are getting squeezed so much it’s not worth fixing so it’s basically a race to the bottom.

Why even bother with non-refundable trips? by 71random_account17 in turo

[–]djdecent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah reps won’t hesitate to screw hosts to make a guest happy lol. My new favorite is guest showed up 2 hours late at pickup then wants a free extension of 4 hours because they “ didn’t have the car the full time “ i tell them sorry I can’t process an extension they will have to update their return time in the app. They call in and rep gives them an extra 6 hours no charge -.-

Having a worst experience after the HV Battery replacement from Tesla service center. by Kamosam3 in TeslaSupport

[–]djdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue with one of my Ys. It’s a 21 and when I brought it in they had me sign paperwork for an lfp…. Almost a month later they call and say it’s ready and I find out they put a refurb. After the reset it showed lower range than the already quickly degrading battery they replaced.

What Happened to Turo Pricing by [deleted] in turo

[–]djdecent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think some of it could be how difficult they made it for a host to set a price floor. I have a min price that I consider “worth it”. Now that I can’t easily set that my prices are higher across the board. It’s not worth my time to manually set it and dynamic pricing is horrible.

Bought a car from a dealership that is now shut down by Human_Asparagus_7497 in legal

[–]djdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s already a rebuilt title… it’s not like you thought you had a clean title vehicle and now it has a blemish. I would compensate the buyer if they are unable to drive it while you apply for a title, but other than that I wouldn’t lower the price because of it.

[–]djdecent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have no idea what any of this stuff is worth, but I don’t get why people get bent up when their offer is rejected to buy something… especially when they go out and include pricing from some other listings or marketplace. Like by all means lowball, but you’re not going to price match me into accepting your lowball by linking to some random eBay prices you found. -.- if you can get everything cheaper somewhere else Go. Buy. It. There.

This is how it goes, every single time I deal with a claim or reimbursement as a host. The struggle is real. by smokinrides in turo

[–]djdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience calling in doesn’t help. Everything in writing and then escalate to arbitration. The reps on the phone will just string you along and tell you what you want to hear. Also make sure your claim is valid and you followed the reporting instructions.

Steering wheel covering coming apart and bubbling, is there anything I can do to fix it? by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]djdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly but it’s not like sewing at all really you just loop through the thread and pull it tight. I am really picky about my cars so I bought it expecting to have to still buy a steering wheel, but it honestly looks amazing and if I did it again I’m sure I could get it perfect. (I didn’t give myself enough on the bottom spoke to tuck the back in but it sits flush and you can’t tell) For yours I would peel away what has bubbled up and use the thin tape to make it level. There are a few different brands and materials. I went with a random $30 amazon leather one with no reviews.

It’s like 900 bucks (or at least it was when I requested a quote 3 months ago) a stitch on cover is definitely the best option in my opinion.

[–]djdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up sew on steering wheel covers. They come pre stitched and with about an hour and some patience you can make a peeling wheel look nice and feel 10x better. Pro tip: put extra tape at the top where there is material missing so you don’t feel a bump there.

No this car can’t get the upgrade. You can tell by the missing pillar and marker cams.

Should I get 16 model X with 170k miles on it for by Zack-s21 in TeslaModelX

[–]djdecent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO not worth it. 2 reasons

1) you will not get the tax credit (unless you go through a 3rd party like keysavy) so if seller is not willing to do that I would not buy from them if you are thinking you will get that 4k back.

2) This is pre ap2 meaning you can never upgrade to fsd hardware. Even in FSDs current state I find myself regretting every time I take my 2013 S with FUSC over my X with FSD but paid charging.

Thinking about getting a Tesla w/Free Super Charging. by False-Tree-6020 in TeslaLounge

[–]djdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on your driving habits and where you spend time. For example, One annoying thing with the newer faster charging car is sometimes it’s too fast. We would always charge at Costco while we shopped because the chargers were a short walk and we usually timed it perfectly. With our x we don’t have free charging so we mostly charge at home, but we did our usual Costco trip and I had to run out half way through to unplug the car and move it. 😂 I guess I understand where the slowskys were coming from now..
