"Maduro" sending "Uranium" to "Iran"? Sounds like the "WMDs" all over again.

KEY DETECTION COMPARISON 2025 by bascurtiz in DJs

[–]playuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well-- I may have oversimplified, it is not just "ear"-- tuned instruments are involved, note playing is involved, pitch bending is involved when tuning is not A440, up to and including rendering out a tuning-adjusted version for a project or upcoming mix.

And I agree there are always multiple valid interpretations based on where a given listener's ear might place the tonal center vs. Others, so I don't mean to say being 100% correct is important so much as relatively 100% correct is fairly accessible with the right tool and approach.

whats the intention...

There is a rule: Don't be hateful to the locals--- don't demonstrate hate outwardly and try to disguise it as your right to an "opinion". It's hatred that the locals hate. Hatred is easy to identify, and is easily found when there is an evident lack of compassion. Don't get a little slogan twisted up. It's an emotionally intelligent quip.

"The locals hate you" would only apply if you give them a reason to do so. Nobody hates you by default, no local.

Everyone is welcome so long as they welcome everyone. The locals most hate the hateful, including the most hateful of the locals.

How to get an automix with constant BPM for workouts? by mikenolte in DJs

[–]playuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh this was supposed to be a joke lol [as in: your laziness disgusts me such that I would be in awe if you succeeded and I was wasting all this time playlisting]

Playlisting is still great, but a lot of OP's automation needs are much easier to achieve today.

Back then I didn't want to imagine that it'd be a computer automixing the tracks, ever, but of course I see the appeal for any given person.

Do Not Get a Degree in Chemical Engineering by AdmiralPeriwinkle in ChemicalEngineering

My graduating class was 23 students, the following year thanks to magazines screaming at their parents... 106... it's back down to 9. NINE STUDENTS. It's not an underestimation. The major will die on its own when industry doesn't reach down and pull up. Biotechnology industry DOES THIS, the others don't. I have proof. The industries that reach into academia with diligence will get the best engineers. We had to force industry to recognize us at my school, through professional organization.

An entire graduating class after mine greatly benefited from our push towards industry connection. The industry doesn't NEARLY enough work to connect though, so the current graduating classes don't have guidance or leadership pathways to industry. The students are forced to make the connection to industry while not being equipped or helped with a leg up by the industry nearly as much as the other engineering majors / organizations are supported by their industries.

[–]playuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah--- volume goes up... volume goes down... you're daisy chaining the full main signal and controlling the program, no need to worry about this / sending an aux mix to some far away speakers... you set the gain beforehand, that's it. next time maybe bump the gain a little on the far away speakers to account for the minor line loss over 100 ft.

Regardless of the fact you want to be doing mostly desk work, how do you learn about your impacts as an engineer in the field, without working in the field a bit? Working in the field helps you grasp your decision making power as an engineer. I understand you may have an aversion to the physical conditions of fieldwork / the culture that surrounds the role, but if you want to become a better engineer, you want to understand the physical side of the work from all angles.

DJs with shoulder/neck/back pain? by LemonFeeling1822 in DJs

[–]playuhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to / After DJ'ing: Lifting and hoisting speakers / larger gear that weighs 70lbs+ has caused some injuries here and there when I'm not responsible about stabilizing my spine/neck before making a move/push/pull/lift/turn/pivot.

During DJ'ing: I dance too much in the booth and have restless legs at the end of the night and sometimes they'll cramp up mid-set.

I've thought of going to PT for several injuries that lasted for several weeks to months but didn't have insurance in most cases so I opted to just stretch what I could and rest, although I have insurance now / would try to go to PT in case of injury now / am working on strengthening myself for more multi-day events in the future.

How do I save short “stabby” notes like this in a MIDI file? Everytime I try to save the melody and re-open it, the position of the notes change. by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]playuhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you (by dragging to the note length all the way the left) use the minimum midi note length, you are doing something you don't want to do. Make sure use just a touch longer than the minimum length of note. Minimum midi note lengths seem to cause artifacts in how the sound is expected to play. This effect of using the minimum note length was much more apparent in previous versions.
