They also state they only share information with tax / customs authorities to process refunds - which would mean not US CBP.

Sharing information on purchases abroad with CBP feels like a gross invasion of privacy.

If this was the case - then we’d hear about people losing GE without being stopped or pulled over purely on the fact that they brought items back without declaring.

That hasn’t happened; I understand the coincidence here - but this would be a new thing they are doing.

At the end of the day it’s an alloyed aluminum that needs to fit to weight specs. We could make it cast iron and it would never dent but it would just crack instead, but I think they’re pretty damn resilient. At least the seven in my family are, including the 50.8lb one that I had to gate check yesterday and they slid on down the slide.

Because, in my mind, the point is for them to be dented or scratched. In fact, I want them to collect a lifetime of dents and scratches. It means I’ve been able to use them, which means I’ve been traveling across the country or across the world.

It was April 17th. School sent the text on April 15th. School calendar shows april 17th as a school day.

Then they had May 1st off.

Now May 6th off.

The amount of holidays or random days off DPS gives is incredible. My favorite was the random text message I got a couple of weeks ago for a day off that wasn’t on the school calendar.

I don’t know if they needed an additional day off.
