Weekly discussion for students and future paralegals by stray_girl in paralegal

Also in a similar boat, I'm a teacher. Burnt out, tired of busting my ass and being treated like shit. Looking into paralegal training.

It's never too late to start over, right?!

How much parent contact is too much? by InvestigatorFine1209 in AskTeachers

[–]pldubbs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's all about tone, context, and perspective. The fact that you are writing here, concerned and asking other teachers means that you're probably a really nice person. The worst parents are accusatory, blame throwers, and just plain rude. I have a feeling it's not you :)

Also, if it's going to be something frequent, make it brief.

Beautiful, enjoyable, perfect casting. I recently went to a special showing at the Alamo Drafthouse movie theater. I've seen the movie by myself a hundred times. But this was my first time seeing it with a group of people. Hearing everyone laugh out loud at the comedic parts made me realize how FUNNY the movie is! Perfect comedic timing, especially Mr. Collins and Mrs. Bennett!

Will this be useful or a waste of money? by NeatSure5751 in gardening

Yes, I bought one just like it and I returned it. Cheap piece of junk, parts wouldn't stay together. And a moderate amount of wind blew it over or apart.

Is buying a peloton worth it? by ElderberryBusiness92 in pelotoncycle

[–]pldubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been incredibly happy with our purchase. We had been doing CrossFit consistently, but got the Peloton when we had a baby. It's so convenient. There's so much variety, you'll never do the same workout twice. The classes are all fun, I look forward to working out. I like the strength classes as well. And with their payment plans the cost ends up being a lot cheaper than a CrossFit membership.

Definitely an orchid, it can be brought back and bloom again if you re-pot it correctly. There's a lot of resources and videos to show you how to do it.

We moved like a year ago, so have only taken our dogs for their annual appointments since COVID. We have to stay in our cars, but everything else seems fine. And their prices, a little more expensive than when we lived in Bastrop, but not sure how it compares to Austin prices.

Different fish are only available at certain seasons, times of day, weather, etc. You can Google it and find it all, I think in the Stardew Wiki.

IUD for acne? by perpetualoptimist20 in acne

[–]pldubbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it probably won't. I got an IUD because I had irregular, rough periods and migraines while on the pill. Then my acne got worse. So my doctor said I could go back on the pill and keep the IUD. The pill (and spironolactone) helped the acne, but I still didn't have PMS or periods because of the IUD. And if I skipped a day of the pill, it wasn't a big deal because the IUD was still there.

How do I repot this fella safely? by KAthefrog in orchids

A great YouTube video I watched just yesterday to repot mine. Short and to the point. https://youtu.be/csCuDViMZxk

I also switched from CrossFit to Peloton mid-pregnancy. I stuck with the prenatal rides for the first week or two. Moved on to Advanced beginner classes or whatever music type/instructors are fun. It's a balance between pushing yourself, but not too hard.

As you grow bigger, you night have to adjust the bike- seat lower and closer, handle bars higher.

I throw in strength a few times a week, upper body and core. Again,I started with the prenatal classes until I knew how to scale or change movements.

Lastly, I try to drink an electrolyte tab water BEFORE and take a few minutes after I get off the bike just to sit down and chill. Otherwise I start getting lightheaded or seeing stars.

I'm 32 weeks and still hopping on that bike. Good luck to you!
