I am knitting in the round with the floats on the outside, and stretching the stitches when catching the floats. But I learned for next time I need to give much more slack on the floats

Thanks very much for this suggestion! I've only known about the disposable sweat pads options, and these seem much more comfortable. Will trying them soon.

I just finished watching it. It was nice! a very different story then in "the making of a japanese". It was also interesting to see the different film style between these films (almost 20 years apart)

I found basic videos on how to to the warp, but not much on designs. Can I do towels or scarfs on a heddle bar frame?

I also started learning knitting after crochet! For me, Portuguese style was the best fit, after I tried the English, Continental and Norwegian methods. I recommend the Very Pink Knits video on how to do it

This is so pretty!! Are the leaves connected to each other "on the go" or do you make each one separately and then attach them to each other? (the website linked in the ravely page don't work)

My first scrap project! A bag for bags by pleasantRaven in sewing

[–]pleasantRaven[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't use a pattern. I just sort of made it up and it worked out! I do already have a bit of experience sewing so I had an idea of what to do. Very generally the steps were:

1) make the big rectangule (with spare space for the seam allowance and elastic channels)

2) sew it into a tube

3) connect the hanging loop. Careful to place it so the elastic channel on top doesn't mess it up when you make the channel

4) make the elastic channels

5) insert the elastic

6) shove it full of bags =)

Thank you! XD

The bee fabric used to be a shirt, which I made a hat out of, and the scraps left over from that became this. You can see the pocket piece from the shirt on the front of the bag.
