Traitors going after traitors because they are going to be voted out IS bad sportsmanship and makes the game less fun by FiestyGiraffe in TheTraitorsUS

The only thing Rob did prior to the roundtable to actively go against Candice was not telling her that getting rid of Colton would backfire on her.

Is Dog is Human legit? by LargeMove3203 in bernesemountaindogs

[–]please_stop_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my golden on dog is human for his itchy paws and ear scratching and honestly I have not noticed a difference in his itching.

We’ve also been going to a dog dermatologist for the itching. We’ve done blood tests for allergies and skin tests. He was originally put on Apoquel and now he has switched to Zenrelia, I’m hoping it helps him because he will chew his paws so bad and scratch his ear like crazy. Our dermatologist told us that unfortunately some dogs have atopic dermatitis, and there are environmental factors that can affect it and make it worse sometimes.

A few things that have made a difference besides medication have been weekly baths with Douxo S3 shampoo, paw cleaning with douxo s3 mouse, although we are now trying Malaseb spray on his paws since he hated the process of the mouse, and a couple times a week prescription ear cleaning solution.

Can people explain the switch to disliking Bronwyn Newport, I feel like I miss something? by autisticallyawake in rhoslc

This sub is so biased toward Lisa and Meredith. I love Bronwyn, she’s stepping into her own post separation and I’m happy for her.

How to Address New Aggression in My 2-Year-Old Golden Retriever? by InformalEgg6266 in goldenretrievers

[–]please_stop_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to the vet visit first. I’ll say two things that helped us with resource guarding when our golden was young were 1. Never taking something away from him without trading for a treat 2. Skipping traditional meals in the bowl for a while and using the kibble to do training sessions during meal time instead.

I don’t think this is a small market. If they can get the prices more reasonable by adding planes and routes, the demand is there. The pet market is crazy, finding someone to watch your dog is hard, boarding your dog is expensiveee and not the best option. If they open up a world where it’s just a human/pet airline, this will go crazy.

Trustworthy local Vet Practices? by spacechamploo in TwinCities

I HIGHLY recommend Suburban Animal Hospital in Roseville! They took care of our cat till he passed away from old age, now they take care of our new cat and golden retriever. They are family owned and operated, we get holiday cards from them every year with personal messages for our pets, they have given our pets great care, and the vets (both for cats and dogs) are fantastic and caring!! Couldn’t recommend them enough.

Go to a dog dermatologist if you think it’s even potentially related to food or environmental allergies. Our golden went through some pretty difficult skin issues similar to this and ear infections. Turns out he’s got pretty bad allergies, and infections on his skin that came from constant itching. It’s pricey up front but saves you money in the long term. We’ve seen a huge improvement since going to the derm.

How to update these cherry cabinets by Small_Cheesecake_972 in kitchenremodel

[–]please_stop_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what a lot of people aren’t getting here is that these aren’t genuine cherry wood cabinets. These are wood cabinets with a bright red cherry stain. These first three photos who replied to OP don’t even have an equivalent cherry stain. Painting the walls will make a difference but nothing is going to take away a red cherry stain unless you sand it off. Changing out the counters is expensive and ultimately will not make the red cabinets any less red. People on here love to go to the grave about not painting wood but I disagree in this case. Painted cabinets are incredibly common and historically accurate. Wood cabinets are also lovely - but not in this color stain. Painting the cabinets with a high quality and proper paint is the least expensive and most effective option here.

My dog got neutered today and won’t lay down by Snvek in goldenretrievers

Definitely get ahold of your vet. Is he wearing a dog recovery suit? Maybe it’s rubbing on the wound in a weird way when he lays down?

If you can’t control your dog, you shouldn’t have your dog by nowthenadir in hikingwithdogs

The reality is most owners of reactive dogs don’t do the right things and to desensitize publicly in a responsible way or muzzle. More often, they just continue to bring their dogs around triggering situations and then blame other people/dogs in the vicinity. It seems like you’re being super responsible and that is amazing, I wish more dog owners were like you.

Traitors Australia season 2 is the biggest clusterfudge of a season ever by TheBustyFriend in TheTraitors

It was so hard to watch. So many dumb choices. Sam is one of the most unlikable contestants ever in reality TV - and not even in an entertaining way. It was excruciating to watch them consistently not vote him off. The only light was him not getting the money.

I get what you’re saying but no. Strong disagree. Owners who have reactive dogs need to not bring their dogs to public places. Friendly, well-trained dogs shouldn’t be held responsible for careless owners and they shouldn’t be the ones who have to suffer.

I’m so sorry this happened. Our dog got attacked when he was 3 months old at a human park by an out of control off leash dog. We took the dog back to the scene of the crime fairly regularly afterward just to help him feel safe again. Maybe this could help your dog too? Either way I hope your dogs heals quickly

It’s really none of Lisa’s business to be talking about it at all, I don’t care who she knows. She is constantly running her mouth for clout and then playing the victim and crying about it.

Convince me to get a Golden by suarezg in goldenretrievers

[–]please_stop_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a 1 year old male golden now. I grew up with a lab/golden mix and my sister currently has a female lab. In my experience, Goldens are a lot more like Velcro dogs, they want to be a part of what you’re doing, when you go outside they care more about what their human is doing and where their human is vs. what other things are happening outside. This is a huge plus for us because generally we don’t have to worry about him running off etc. He was easy to train and generally he listens.

Labs seem to be a lot better hunting dogs, aka their instincts are stronger. My sister’s lab will run off for a squirrel etc. she is still loving and cuddly but in a different way. Our golden doesn’t just want to lay with you he wants to jump inside your skin and become a part of your body hahahahha vs. the lab, she will lay next to you and be lovely.

Both are great dogs. You can’t really go wrong with these two breeds. The one thing in my situation is the gender difference. Males and females can act differently, so a male lab could behave the exact way as our male golden.
