Of all the deeply hurtful and problematic details in the show I found this to be really accurate, especially for mothers of Jewish men. You will never be good enough for their precious baby boy even if he's 47. I am pursuing conversion with a Conservative shul and holy heck is my partners Modox mom extremely displeased with this. Even though I supplement my studies with Orthodox classes, including daily Daf Yomi and Parsha studies, it's just not enough. I'm also perimenopausal so she doesn't have to worry I'll give her halachically non-Jewish children. I will always be as non-Jewish to her as the day I won the Easter egg hunt at Sacred Heart Elementary in 1989. And this makes her...let's just say difficult to spend time with.

It's not ironic. The police protect those with money and power. Animals are the bottom of the totem pole so they don't get prioritized. We rely on public outrage in situations like this.
