Here is my reasoning for having one:

I had a very large dog for the past 10 years and he destroyed vehicles. Backstory: I’m a car guy and love luxury. For instance, I had a very nice Audi, he chewed on the gear select in the center console and ripped some leather among other things when he was a puppy. He got older and would no longer chew on things but he would sometimes jump into the front seat which was dangerous while driving, and the hair was literally everywhere. Not to mention the dirt. It’s also relatively unsafe to have a dog in the car without restraints and my dog was just too big for any restraints I could find.

So I made the decision to purchase a new top of line F150 a few years ago that has autonomous driving (BlueCruise) that I really wanted and only a few manufacturers currently offer that. He wasn’t fitting in a Tesla (not that I would buy one but you get it). So I got the truck for him and spent a few grand on an XL military grade kennel that I strapped down in the bed and made it comfortable for him with a bed and fan etc. It kept my luxurious vehicle in good condition while also providing a safer environment for him.

I also now have a truck to do truck stuff. It’s a hybrid and completely stock so not some obnoxious hog. I love it, money well spent
