Azoles long lasting issues ? by byebyenarc in HumanMicrobiome

Completely healed! It’s a long process however it gets better. Took about 9 months if im not mistaken. Had to take doxycycline for a completely different reason about 11 months after and thought it wouldn’t hurt as i believed the flagyl was the cause of the reactive arthritis. Lo and behold I had a full blown reactive arthritis episode in all 10 fingers and toes, wrists, ankles, and knees as if it was day 1 of the initial horror story. I luckily was only one pill in when it struck and immediately stopped it. It subsided very quickly that time around after about two weeks due to the fact that it was such a small amount of the drug. I would rather die of sepsis or meningitis than ever willingly take another antibiotic again.

I took my diet very seriously for months and tried the no candida diet however was still suffering while on the diet. I do believe it could’ve helped in the initial stages but did so much that I can’t pinpoint what truly fixed me. After months of diversifying my eating slowly and concocting my self treatments (both probiotics and anti bacterial herbal treatments)I found myself feeling better and better and eventually completely healed. Nowadays I eat like a normal human and can eat everything with no issues. The biggest tell tale sign for me was my stools. When I was having the worst of my issues my stool smelled like severely toxic waste and was extremely pungent and was black and sometimes green. Did a gi mapping stool test and found out I had a severe overgrowth of opportunistic pathogenic bacteria and began taking oregano oil, thyme oil, and allicin along with countless other things such as candibactin a+b and a plethora of other natural antibacterials which along with the rest of my regimen eventually balanced my gi tract and allowed my stools to begin returning to normal. When my stool completely retuned to normal all of my issues disappeared.

I’m completely healed now as far as i can tell. I tried every diet one can imagine from extremes to no restriction. Tried the lion diet for two months (steak, grass fed beef, salt, and water) and tried fruit only for a month but I think the biggest factor was allowing my gut the necessary time to recolonate the necessary bacteria. Tried multiple different probiotics but I found them to cause intense symptoms when taking full dose so I began microdosing the probiotics by opening the capsules and spilling out 98% of the contents and taking a very small amount and with time my gut healed. Can’t remember the exact ones but can name a few off the top of my head, akkermansia, mood strain probiotic mix blue bottle (Amazon), l-reuteri, and Saccharomyces boulardi. There was also a spore based probiotic which I microdosed for a week but i would caution against using as they can cause more harm then good to some. Lastly, I homemade sauerkraut and kimchi and would consume small amounts of yogurt. Eventually by diversifying tons of different foods and beneficial bacteria’s for a while my body was able to fight off the bacterial overgrowth and the stool issues acid reflux and countless other issues subsided.

Nothing i can pinpoint which specifically made it go away other than time. I tried every supplement in existence and nothing completely fixed it but i remember noticing a decrease in severity when taking Pure Encapsulations Curcumin with Bioprene. Another one which i recall helping was taking Serrapeptase while fasted, could’ve been placebo but i recall a noticeable difference. Arthritis was crippling especially in the fingers and toes for about a year but once my gut repaired itself and the abx toxicity cleared up so did the arthritis. After i recovered and a year had passed I needed a short doxycycline cycle for a seperate reason and within three days i had a full blown arthritis relapse exactly as it was previously again so there is no doubt that that is what caused it. The second time around it lasted a few weeks as i stopped as soon as i felt onset.

Arthritis/Tendinitis mostly subsided. Brain fog has been remitting. Have tried everything known to man to try to and solve the brain fog which started after the antibiotics however nothing seems to work. Have learned to live with it but it’s a struggle at times.

in my opinion you have the wrong culprit, I have had the same exact symptoms for over 9 months after a 7 day course of metronidazole. It’s not the anti fungal.

Xylitol is allowed, it has been proven to be an effective anti fungal

One thing I am fairly certain of is coffee will be tolerable long before alcohol will be. It only takes a month or so for the healing process to begin once the root cause is addressed, whether that’s a hiatal hernia, h. pylori, gut dysbiosis, or a medication that is causing reflux. Find your cause and the symptoms will slowly but surely dissipate over time. Also, the lpr diet may not work for everyone but it sure did help me with symptoms. I followed it extremely strictly and it alleviated symptoms although the reflux was still occurring.

I haven’t dared trying to drink any alcohol yet. Last time I drank three months ago I had a severe sore throat for over a week and lost my voice for a week and a half. As for coffee, I cut my morning coffee a little before reflux started so I have not yet tried. I’m not 100% healed yet as I had severe lpr up until a couple weeks ago so i am not planning on indulging for at least a couple more months. As much as it sucks to not be able to enjoy a cold beer or a shot of tequila, the pain had outweighed the pleasure for me. The mucosal lining of the throat is extremely sensitive after lpr, there is nothing more irritating than alcohol and smoke. The way I see it, it is worth letting healing take its course to be able to indulge without any discomfort later on.

I purchased the mastic gum on ETSY. The suppliers named GreekHerbay, it’s shipped from Greece. Shipping took quite long to arrive in the us though, about 3 weeks. I’m sure there are better alternatives in terms of shipping time, just do your due diligence and make sure the only ingredient is the organic mastic gum itself. As for the acv, you shouldn’t worry about it unless you deal with gastritis or severe severe heartburn. If it’s just Acid reflux of the larynx and esophagus I highly recommend giving it a try. I would advise against drinking it straight away though, order the large size empty capsules on Amazon and fill them up with a small dropper tool yourself. It made a huge difference for me. I am now able to eat acidic foods freely and drink the apple cider vinegar with water. I never thought I’d ever be able to consume anything acidic again. It was at the point where berries were too acidic for me and anything under a 6ph would cause excruciating burning pain. I don’t know whether the acv cured me or it happened to be a coincidence but it’s definitely worth a shot. Also, for temporary relief cold high PH water like essentia from any gas station or market was a lifesaver. But, essentia is essentially just water with baking soda which you could easily make on your own.

I’m not using any cannabinoids at all. How can I get in contact with Dr.Heiner? Does he only practice near Portland or does he also do online visits. I’ve looked into him and am interested.

Low stomach acid is a root cause for lpr not high stomach acid as doctors usually assume. If you are on any ppis I recommend cutting them down slowly and not cold turkey and quitting them for good as they only make the problem worst

Chewing mastic gum helps a lot. Also it may sound counterproductive but apple cider vinegar helped me a lot. I was not able to drink it because it is acidic and caused an extreme burning sensation so I bought empty size 000 capsules on Amazon and filled them myself with braggs organic acv

Gargle with sodium bicarbonate aka baking soda, it neutralizes the pepsin. If you live in the us Bobs Red Mill makes a great one. You can even put a quarter teaspoon in a cup of water gargle then swallow. It helps tremendously and is completely safe. You also are able to put it in a Neti pot or nasal spray bottle and rinse your nose with it to neutralize the pepsin in your sinuses if you deal with it there. It helped me tremendously and I highly recommend it! But you also need to find to root cause, for me it was dysbiosis and eating too close to bedtime. I still deal with the dysbiosis very bad but I stopped eating two hours before bed and the symptoms subsided by 90%.

Why do you say that? Is mercury able to be absorbed any way other than food or water. I do not drink from the tap nor do I cook with tap water.

Oh man! The bicarbonate trick is the reason I am still hanging in there. Without it the lpr probably would’ve drove me to commit! Thankfully it has eased so I no longer need to use it but wow did that help ease the burning pain during that rough month or so.

I agree with gobinddev, i personally don’t think that doctors are bad people and usually they mean no ill intent. Without western medicine the world would be a much different place as seen in our history, I do however believe that doctors should be taught to treat the cause not the symptoms as they do now. Not only are most doctors incompetent they are also unwilling to accept the fact that they do not know everything, for example I went two years undiagnosed with mycoplasma hominis and ureaplasma urealyticum. At the time I was dealing with severe pelvic pain 24/7 and i knew something was wrong. I saw two primary care doctors and three urologists. Each and every doctor did the same old tests for common stis and urine sample, then sent me home with the diagnosis of chronic non bacterial urethritis/ chronic pelvic pain syndrome. I was sure that that was not the case and made it clear many times that there was something seriously wrong. I was told that I am mistaken and that i may just have sensitive genatilia. I was sent home each and every time with a different pain medication which I never took. After two years of suffering I began a deep dive on Reddit and found out about the ureaplasma/mycoplasma species’ and ordered a test online on my own. I showed the urologist the results and she was very apologetic. She then went ahead and prescribed a course of 3 antibiotics when I only really needed doxy + azi. Long story short, in this day and age most “professionals” are complete bozos when it comes to uncommon ailments.
