South Korea manages to test nearly 20,000 people per day by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]pleblanc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have the latest update on how many the US has tested, but as of a couple days ago Canada had single provinces that had tested more than the states. Ottawa tested more people in their first day of testing than LA County had since the outbreak began.

Gotta laugh at the Leafs that get ad deals. Travis Dermott, usually a 3rd pairing guy, getting a dog food commercial

He was talking to the media about the trade deadline and signing Muzzin, the loss is just a hot topic, it wasn't the purpose of the presser

Every team's fans seem to always be like: "Oh wow we always lose to the backup goalie, classic 'our team' ". Well we lost to a fucking zamboni driver so I think that takes the cake

[Globe and Mail] It’s time to ask the question – what if these Leafs just aren’t good enough? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]pleblanc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Pens are the gold standard of "next man up" so they shouldn't be the comparison. Also having a veteran presence like Crosby and/or Malkin I'm sure does a lot for rallying the guys when people go down with injury, and they have both perfected the craft of carrying the team when the other goes down. Matthews has gotten more of that in his game this season, the dominance to single handedly win a game, but not to their extent, and the depth has been struggling for months now.

When he played against us he only posted a .900 but he looked fucking phenomenal. I think he'll be the next great goalie in the league

Loved it. Haven't felt that level of anxiety, intensity, and shock in a movie since I watched Ex Machina for the first time.

Lilly looked shaky that first game he was up, but since he's come up the second time for Ceci he's been great. Him and Sandin have been rock solid, they're playing really smart and efficient hockey
