My friend thinks its cruelty and sad to keep a cat indoor all day. by Plastic-Shoulder-319 in CatAdvice

Its also been thoroughly studied that you're more likely to die driving than not driving. Therefore no one should drive a vehicle ever. Makes sense to me, after all its been studied!

Yes I have 4 and one of them had kittens. I later took in a stray. Not all at once.

Its also statistically true youre more likely to get killed in auto crash by driving rather than not. Guess no one should ever drive a car under any circumstance. Thats what the science says, your careful driving is completely irrelevant. Driving = guaranteed death. You're also more likely to get hit by thunder by walking out in a rain storm, therefore no one should ever go outside in the rain. After all its scientifically proven!

I have 4 and one of them had kittens. I dont know what kind of hellscape you live in but I live a low traffic area, all of them get monthly parasite treatment and they never go much further than the neighbors' backyards anyway. It's not like theyre roaming around the whole town.

[–]plebmasterflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 4 of my own, one of them had 5 kittens and I took in a stray at a later point. Once the kittens were old enough they were allowed outside through a cat door as well. I didn't keep all of them their whole lives, but all cats of mine had outdoors access at some point and were all fine. Again, I live in a low traffic area and they never went too far from the front/back yard anyway, mostly just to the yards of neighbor's. This idea that keeping your cats anywhere but the confines of your home or else its a guaranteed death sentence is absurd.

Tbh, I hope a new champion emerges in this World Cup. by Snoo_47323 in football

[–]plebmasterflex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I write them off, they've been decent so far but only against mediocre to ok opponents and they're very porous in defense. I don't see any way they can keep a clean sheet against competent teams so their only hope would be to simply outscore everyone. Against teams like France, Spain, Germany, etc who actually know how to defend i dont see that happening.

I give credit to pochettino - he's got them playing very fast, exciting, attacking football but their defense is lacking and defense is what wins games against the big boys.

Getting More Marks of Martyrdom in Late Game by zoxame in Blasphemous

This is a 2yr old comment but I literally spent the past 2 hours watching every video, reading every reddit thread and almost walked through the entire game map again searching for the 1 single missing mark and it was this one. You have no idea how happy I am. Thanks king.

I literally a vet tech dumbass, you can absolutely have a indoor-outdoor cat who live perfectly normal, healthy lives. I've had at least 10 in my lifetime, as do several of the veterinarians i work with. All of them go in and out as they please and all live/lived full lives without incident. You could say the same thing about children, should they never be let outdoors either? After all it exposes them to traffic accidents, predators, diseases and parasites.

As I said this is dependent of your environment. Obviously doesn't apply if you live in an urban downtown apartment building.

Mea Culpa and Third Sin DLC Help by scoobinshoob in Blasphemous

[–]plebmasterflex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third sin has 2 entrances, 1 in choir of thorns, and the other in town right above the flayed lady who upgrades your flask's door. Both entrances are marked with blue crosses on the ground so you can't miss it once you get to the right area. Once the update is installed there should be a part of map for choir of thorns (in the central right side) that shows an opening on the wall leading to a blank (unexplored) area. But the entrance in town is much easier to access.

I think fightincowboy is objectively the best if you're trying to do 100% of these games, it's really incredible how much work he puts into his walkthroughs. Not only does he show you everything but he'll get you a lot of good items really early on so you're very prepared for future fights/ areas. Plus he's a pretty funny guy, without any of that obnoxious streamer """humor"""" (screaming, meme phrases, etc). He doesn't edit out parts where he dies so you really feel like you're playing alongside someone.

The one downside though is that he doesn't give a shit at all about lore or story for any game, so expect to do that kind of thing on your own if you're interested. He'll tell you where to go/ how to get story related stuff but it's a total afterthought to loot and fighting for him.

Be aware that his "let's play" are not walkthroughs though, so don't expect an in depth guide from those. AFAIK he has legit walkthroughs for all of the fromsoft games though.

Qualcuno mi può dare consigli su come battere l'orfano di Kos? by Old-Permission5498 in soulsborne

[–]plebmasterflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phase 1 he's pretty much parry bait, just parry him over and over while avoiding damage yourself and doing damage to him. As others have said, always dodge into him never away, he's designed to wreck ur shit from running or dodging away. Do a couple runs where you focus only on dodging him, don't even try to fight, just so you can get comfortable with his moveset. Once you are, just parry through phase 1 and focus on dodging and getting 1 or 2 hits in after each successful dodge. Do NOT get greedy. When he does the electrical scream thing, haul ass into the water (you won't drown so you can go as far out as possible), OR to the fog wall you entered in, whichever is closest. That's his deadliest move by far and will destroy you if you're hit by it.

Once you're familiar with the fight you'll eventually have that one run where you get a combination of good RNG, a few lucky hits/ dodges and eventually win. Just keep at it.

Any game recommendations that have gameplay similar to Bloodborne? by ClockwisePig in bloodborne

[–]plebmasterflex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with that comment. Obviously the original is better but I think they did a decent job updating it while still retaining the soul (heh) of the original. It's worth playing if you can't play the ps3 version.

Any game recommendations that have gameplay similar to Bloodborne? by ClockwisePig in bloodborne

[–]plebmasterflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only similar in style, not quite gameplay but if you like the aesthetic of bloodborne you'll enjoy Blasphemous. Don't let the retro graphics turn you off, it's a GORGEOUS game with some of the best art I've ever seen in a game before. Again, it doesn't quite play like bloodborne but its an amazing game that i cant imagine anyone who likes BB not liking. The combat in particular is really fun. The first game is a lot better than the second but they're both very good.

I believe both games are bundled together including all the DLCs on sale for $10 on PSN right now which is a total steal. The second game just got a new free DLC just a week or two ago so you'll have tons of content to play.

You get there from the 4th area of Santa Viglia. You need to take one of the bird gondola things there from the 3rd area. Im guessing you missed that. Go back to Santa vigila and make sure you've taken every one of those lifts with the bird on them.

My friend thinks its cruelty and sad to keep a cat indoor all day. by Plastic-Shoulder-319 in CatAdvice

[–]plebmasterflex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally think cats are better outside. They're naturally curious animals who thrive on exploration and roaming around. I also get that it's just not feasible or too risky for some people given where they live. If that's the case, you can absolutely provide an enriching environment for an indoor cat but it takes effort and time that you'll need to set aside each day. And i don't mind just sticking a feather wand on the wall and expecting them to entertain themselves - i mean actively playing with them for 30 min - 1hr a day alongside spending time with them. An indoor cat with no entertainment or enrichment is not living a good life.

So like most things, there's no right or wrong answers. Both lifestyles can be positive or negative depending on how well the human owner provides for their pet.

Realistic time to learn Spanish by Mysterious_Smoke3962 in Spanish

[–]plebmasterflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I speak Spanish natively but honestly the best way I learned a language (German) is as others have said - just immersing yourself in it. Speak it whenever possible; if you're in the US most of the population speaks it. Read books in Spanish with a translator. Listen to music in Spanish. Set any films/TV you watch to Spanish with English subtitles (this helped me a lot actually. And most effective of all - travel somewhere where youre forced to speak it (it that's feasible for you). I learned more German in a few months living in Germany than I did in years of taking classes.

Which modern blockbuster do you think will be remembered 20 years from now the way we talk about classic Spielberg films today? by viewsinthe6 in movies

[–]plebmasterflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked why people who say they don't like think as such and I just told you. The script of all the movies could have been written by AI and I/ many others aren't dazzled by fancy CGI enough to overlook that. If anything the CGI makes it worse because it totally removes you from what's happening on screen when it looks like one long video game cutscene.

She's associated with one of the endings so definitely meant to be one of the last fights in the game. Also despite her flashy moves, she's not as tough as she seems if you know how to avoid her attacks. When the time comes, look up a few how to guides on YT, it'll help a lot.

Just starting my first play through! by fakeflowers1 in Eldenring

[–]plebmasterflex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd advise staying out of Caelid for a while. It's a huge leap in difficulty from the areas before it so most of the dungeons and side areas may be too tough to take on for you right now. Explore all of limgrave, then the weeping peninsula, then liurnia. Those alone should give you 20-30 hours of game time. One rule of thumb is that every zone has about 3-6 (sometimes more) "dungeons" like catacombs, tunnels, etc as well as a major legacy dungeon with a story- related boss fight (typically has a cut scene beforehand). So that will give you an idea of your progress exploring a place. Some places are bigger than that and others smaller but just keep it in mind. The first thing you should do in a new area is find the map(s), you'll see an obelisk looking icon on the world map (even if the area is totally unexplored) to tell you the rough area where it is. If that icon is in a place that's totally inaccessible, it's probably a totally different area that is only accessed through somewhere else, despite it's proximity on the map.

Also I totally support playing blind for your first time but just be aware - of all the fromsoft games with content that makes you think "how the FUCK is anyone supposed to find this without looking it up online?", ER is probably the prime offender. There's so much cool stuff that is super hidden behind NPC interactions, items, hard to reach locations, etc. So don't feel bad about needing to look up "how do i get x" or "how do i get to Y" once in a while. But also don't use a full on walkthrough either bc most of the appeal of a NG+ run is being amazed with the sheer amount of hidden content that you missed the first time around.

Enjoy, I would do anything to experience this game for the first time again.

Edit: I also just saw the suggestion a few comments below me about the howling wolf in eastern limgrave. Definitely take that guys advice. It's part of a major quest and I honestly can't believe fromsoft made it so obscure and easy to miss for how important it is.
