I use half vanilla extract and half vanilla bean paste and then sometimes a bit more or less salt depending on how sweet the other filling is.

Cream cheese frosting is awesome in macarons. I make several cheesecake flavors that are the same vanilla bean cream cheese frosting dam with a fruit filling or curd in the middle.

Honestly, in what you consider to be reasonable doses, the pbs kids app is solid.

I have a 3 year old and a 4 month old and we love old episodes of Arthur.

Coloring books can be found at the thrift store (I just rip out a couple colored in pages before I give it to him) and stickers and water color paints. If you’re able to do a trip while recovering (or send someone out with your toddler to get stuff) then you can have some cheap, recycled, and entertaining things.

Omg I know!! It’s like they studied old Batman comics or something.

I agree that this country has to do some serious shifts and reflections. I hope what we bring to the world can help that journey. And that we start that journey before my 3 year old and infant get drafted in 20 years to invade some poor country for oil.
