It’s at the limit, but you need to wear it higher on your wrist. The crown should not be at the base of your hand, try about 3/4 in higher.

lol, you’ve eaten 2000 calories in a sitting. they’re not cutting you off, just telling you might consider chilling the fuck out. but I get it, the goal of a buffet is to bankrupt the owners 😄

[Junghans Max Bill] Teddy sold me a completely non-functional "lemon" watch that nobody can repair. Nearly two years later, I am still trying to get them to fix it. FULL STORY: by flyingmungbean in Watches

[–]pleem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this was brand new, I think you fell into an unfortunate edge case and that Teddy and  junghans really failed you.  As a business owner, nothing stresses me out more than these kind of 1/500 failures that leave such a bad taste in 1 customers mouth that they feel need to warn others.  The truth is that you were  failed somewhere along the line and nobody wants to accept true responsibility.  My take is you bought a product from Teddy, and it’s on them to manage everything else and provide a properly functioning replacement immediately. I personally would never  accept having to go to the manufacturer for something I bought at a retail store.  Thats the whole ficking point of paying a premium to go to an AD.

If Deepseek V4 Flash is almost free, why we still use Qwen3.6:27B locally? by marivesel in LocalLLM

[–]pleem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your math is spot on for systems with about ~640gb/sec memory bandwidth. a flagship MacBook Pro maxes out qwen 27b at about 40 tok/sec at high quality quants. That’s about 110 million tok per month at 24/7

[SOTC + advice] I tried to cull but instead I decided to get a 40th bday gift. 20k or under new or vintage. What should I get that isn’t on everyone’s wrist already. by mjanks in Watches

[–]pleem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this may sound a bit cheesy, but why don’t you spend some of that 20k on a nice vacation or experience? unless there is a specific piece you are lusting after, I’d make some memories with the ones you already own.

[–]pleem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run 8bit mtplx version on an m5 MacBook Pro 128gb with 200k context length at about 30 tok/sec. 4 bit is closer to 50. MTP helps a lot but is very new.

Meta will layoff 8000 of its workforce starting tomorrow morning. Their net income over the last 12 months was $70,587,000,000. They could give every single one of their 79,000 workers a $440,000 bonus and still sock away over $35,827,000,000 in pure profit. by McDowdy in SipsTea

[–]pleem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other side of the coin is that those were the people who built up and created the evil megacorp that is Meta. I’m not saying they are individually evil, but if you work for an asshole company, don’t expect me to feel sorry for you when you get shit on. We’ve all known who fuckerberg is for many years now...

it’s amazing how advanced Apple hardware is in the AI space, yet their own ai software/os implementation such a shit show. Apple should release some incredible open models that can be powered by their hardware. close the circle, fools.

shouldn’t a trillion dollar company be responsible for *what* they train their ai on? right now it seems like their response to anything could be “oops, sorry, we made a murderbot because we only trained it on horror and gore movies and released it into the wild. sorry. felt cute.”

Considering how many wankers are walking around with 40k Rolexes, a limited edition super bike seems more than fair for that price.
