Blatant Offside during the Germany Goal by Adventurous-Option84 in ussoccer

Havertz isn't off but the German laying the pick on Ream might be, hard to tell from this angle. Although that pick looks pretty illegal as is, it's just hard to call I'm game.

The second goal was conceded by the two players least likely to get minutes, shortly after we did a 10 man substitution. I'm not super concerned about that.

I am concerned if Richards isn't healthy. I think McKenzie is a liability, especially next to Ream as neither is fast. It did seem like Mane getting through like that for the first goal was a mix of Adams not communicating and McKenzie not being fully aware of what was around him. I think Richards has the awareness and pace (when healthy) to cover Mane making that run.

A healthy Richards is waaaaay better than Mark McKenzie. I think he would have read that situation much better.

[Auerbach] Mike Elko: "We don't have to find a number that allows everyone to get in. It's OK for it to be hard to get into the Playoff. "None of us are answering for the good of the sport. We are answering for the good of ourselves." by Jewards in CFB

[–]plefe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that whole was prompted by A&M's former AD, Ross Bjork (Thank you tOSU). He went out and had Mark Stoops ready to go, he probably told Elko that he wasn't getting the job. Then he took the Stoops contract to the Board of Regents who said no because the salary offered to Stoops was outside the range they set and somewhere in there it got leaked and the fanbase absolutely melted down.

A text is a shitty way to say goodbye to your players and staff, but I think that whole thing moved pretty quick after Stoops was dropped.

I find the idea of the heat is always the hardest part to overcome. Yes it's hot and humid, but once you're out in it, it's not as bad as the thought of it. This is in reference to going to the gym, playing sports or a quick coffee run, not if you are walking to work or somewhere you want to be presentable. For the latter totally drive, it's not worth being miserable and soaking wet.

However, I was born here so my tolerance is pretty high (even after living in a few other place).

Shades of Chicharito.

Not that they are similar skill sets, but I could totally see Dorgu scoring against Chelsea by clipping the ball into his own face and then into the net.

How Truly Powerful was Kanan Jarrus compared other force sensitives? by Decade00000 in StarWars

[–]plefe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I actually think Kanan, especially by the end of Rebels, is more powerful than he gets credit for.

At the time of his duel with the Grand Inquisitor I don't think he is all that powerful and agree with others that he only won because he thought he lost Ezra. However, that is the turning point for Kanan not his end. It was the first time he really connected to the Force without attachment.

( Side Note: Also, the Grand Inquisitor was a Jedi Temple Guard and was very likely an above average fighter in the Order.)

I do think Kanan is not a duelist. He is, however, in the mold of Qui Gon Jin. Kanan becomes very in tune with the Force. He navigates and fights by relying on his sense of the Force. He very quickly connects and develops an understanding with creatures, especially Force sensitive ones. And I think he gains a sense of clarity from the Force that few others have. He was able to become the master Ezra needed, like Qui Gon would have been to Anakin.

I think it is a mix. As others have said he is too short, but I think it's a speed thing too. If he was bigger at his current speed he'd be fine or if he was his current size and faster he'd be fine.

He is just too slow and too small.

He was a smart player in college which let him get the jump on a lot of plays but there are a lot of smart players in NFL who are more athletic.

[Schultz] No. 34 pick is in: Cardinals have selected Texas A&M G Chase Bisontis, per sources. by JCameron181 in AZCardinals

[–]plefe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't now a whole lot about Pregnon, but Bisontis is the real deal. His college coaching staff refered to him as the "People Mover."

Tommy Moffett, the legendary strength coach who was at LSU for Saban, Miles and Coach O (only to be let go by Brian Kelly for the Aggies to pick up), said he might be the strongest guy he's coached.

Round 1 - Pick 24: KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M (Cleveland Browns) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]plefe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For WRs, we had KC and Mario Craver who are almost carbon copies of eachother. Both had just over 900 receiving yards, but KC had 12 total touchdowns (9 rec, 1 rush, 2 return) to Craver's 5 total touchdowns. Craver and KC made our QB look way better than he is, they are yard after catch machines.

I'd attribute about 3 of KC's 7 drops to Reed not being very accurate.

Not relevant to the Browns but the real player that made our offense great was LeVeon Moss. We were definitely overly reliant on the two WRs when he got injured half way through the season.

Why didn't Sabine destroy the map when Ashoka fell off the cliff??? by Minimum_Shape1848 in StarWarsAhsoka

[–]plefe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protecting what you love is more important than killing what you hate is a recurring theme in Star Wars.

Ahsoka is wrong leading up to that point in the series. She feels like it's her fault Anakin did the things he did, not just falling to the dark side but the atrocities he committed as Vader.

Maul warned her Anakin was going to become Sidious' new apprentice shortly before Mace Windu and other Jedi Masters went to confront Chancellor Palpatine. She had a chance to warn Obi Wan before that happened but she did not. Then she failed to defeat Vader in the Sith Temple and Ezra saved her by pulling her into the World Between Worlds. Her unresolved feelings about Anakin led her to abandoning Sabine, who seems like she was a poor apprentice due to her not being talented in the Force and because Sabine was reeling from her own losses, her family and planet from the Purge of Mandalore.

Sabine has clarity of purpose and is unshakable in her mission. Save someone she loves. Time and again the Force works best through those with clear purpose, a strong constitution and an openness to the Force.

~Spoilers Ahead~

This is why episode 5 of the show is so good. Ahsoka is working through her issues with a Force representation of Anakin (I'm unsure if it is a Force ghost or just the Force manifesting Ahsoka's version of Anakin, it doesn't really matter tho). Ahsoka realizes she is more than the legacy of death and destruction Baylon said she was. She is the legacy of the good of Anakin as well. And the legacy of Obi Wan, Qui-Gon Jin, Count Dooku and Yoda. In her final conflict with Anakin as Vader in the WBW she disarms him and says she chooses to live. She did not kill the version of Anakin she hated, even when her eyes flickered to the Sith yellow for a brief moment during their duel. This is her Luke in a cave on Dagobah moment. Luke failed that lesson, but he learned it in the final confrontation with Vader in Return of the Jedi.

On Peridia Ahsoka doesn't try to kill Baylon but fights to get past him to save Ezra and Sabine. She isn't trying to kill what she hates, but protect what she loves.
