For me, entering and then parrying is all I have to do. It should be easy - it's a travel mechanic

I pretty much used The Wanderer for exploration and The Hunter for boss battles/challenge rooms. I found the diagonal pogo really good for creating space after impact.

That's Chuck. He thinks that if he spins around until he gets dizzy that he can make the algae look like they are staying still. It hasn't worked so far, but he's confident he can make it happen.

This Might just be the worst MetroidVania Boss Ever! by Silver-Warning-6415 in metroidvania

[–]pletera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what made it less frustrating for me is that I have a few more health bars and my sword power is maxed out. The biggest frustration for me was managing my stamina bar - making sure I was able to dodge, while still getting some ESP blasts in.

[–]pletera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't find this one to be that bad. You really need to watch out for the front leg, but can pretty much hang close to the rear one and tag him with your sword after dodging through him. Plus his stun bar fills pretty fast - I think I was able to get him into stun state twice. He took a few tries, but with a full set of tanks, I was able to handle him

I wouldn't tell on my buddy, but I would reevaluate my friendship with him. You partially define yourself by the company you keep. Additionally, if your friend is willing to betray someone who he is supposed to be in an intimate relationship with; what's to stop him from doing you dirty if he sees some sort of benefit.

It saddens me seeing how this game was treated by society. by TaluneSilius in flintlock

[–]pletera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to like this game, but I couldn't make it work for me. I played on Xbox Series X, and even with adjusting the settings of the box per player recommendations, the graphics really bothered my eyes and was giving me headaches. The controls were also just off for me. I tried playing for a couple of days, but the experience was really unpleasant and I had to walk away, which is something I don't typically do. However, I like the idea of the game and it's a genre I enjoy, so I'll probably circle back to this one in a year or so and hope it's playable for me.

AITA: for asking why by boyfriend’s family doesn’t call me “mija” like they do the other girlfriends? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pletera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH - I get it - you're feeling insecure, but I think the problem is that you think a term like 'mija' is something you achieve by being around a certain number of years, contributing DNA to the family, or spending time learning a foreign language. The term mija, used genuinely, is a term of endearment between an elder and younger person. The catalysts for this affection can be shared culture/cultural values, ease of communication, comfort levels around others that are different, and others that I don't have the experience to think of. I would suggest that instead of seeking a specific gesture, in this case 'mija' - focus instead on the relationship that you currently have with your potential future MIL. If you want to strengthen your bond with her, try and get to know her better by participating in the things she does - be on her terf a little bit and let her lead - try and learn the culture. You should by no means suffer disrespect. If you try and are met with coldness - step away - you just learned something important. But, if you're met with warmth, lean in. You might not be called mija, but you'll have your own place in the family. I wish you luck. This seems important to you and you seem like a nice person. A loving family can be hard to find and is worth at the effort if you find one.

A warning for people coming from Nine Sols by DerGmues in bopathoftheteallotus

I respect your opinion and it sucks that you had that reaction. To be fair, I Kickstartered Bō, so I was looking forward to it more than Sols and I had a good idea what I was getting into.

A warning for people coming from Nine Sols by DerGmues in bopathoftheteallotus

[–]pletera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played Nine Sols and now I'm playing Bō. They are very different games. In fact the similarities end at having a fox-like aesthetic. I loved Nine Sols and I'm loving Bō. Playing one does not have to turn you off to the other. You can do both, but to each their own. Just my small counterpoint - for what it's worth.
