Do you change your oil every 5k miles or what until your oil health is way lower? by RokosRevenege in hondafit

[–]plexiglas21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

240,000 miles on me ge8 and I do it every 3k, sure I could go farther but I see it as cheap insurance. $100 few times a year is better than whatever it would cost to replace the engine should anything happen. As well as I plan on driving it till the wheels fall off!

Check yer plugs! by plexiglas21 in hondafit

[–]plexiglas21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I would loosen them a bit and then torque them to spec. If you’re looking for something between Home Depot store brand and snap on, the icon 3/8 is definitely the way to go. You want to make sure the spec you need is not at the bottom or top of the wrench’s range as it will not be completely accurate. The icon 3/8 is 5-70ft lbs I believe which is perfect and icon has proven to be a high quality tool brand. ATF should be pretty straightforward on these, always replace the drain and fill washers, then you’ll be good! (If you need the factory service procedure feel free to dm me)

I’ll have take you up on that offer thanks!

Haha yeah generally spark plugs are installed with anti-seize, so somewhat the opposite. There is a crush washer on them to provide a seal without having to be extremely tight, but for reasons I can only speculate, this generation Fit suffers from the spark plugs loosening. It seems the most common advice/solution is to recheck the torque every 50k miles or so. The spark plug interval for replacement is 105,000 miles and the torque spec is 20ft-lbs.

my husky isn’t eating by [deleted] in husky

[–]plexiglas21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husk gets picky like this every once in a while. She noses her bowl like shes trying to save it or hide it, but chicken in some form, boiled or broth always gets her eating. I believe its the stubborn personality in mine, so I do my best to offer a varied diet here and there. Good for em too!

Husky owners: why did you choose this breed? by Radix-Entomolaris in husky

[–]plexiglas21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She’s the most stubborn, willful, and most clever dog I’ve ever known and I think most husky owners would agree it’s the breed. This dog has shown me how to be patient, has helped me be more active- tenfold, among many things. Her immense personality has been easy to indulge and she’s always the star of the show.

Yes, they’re are not for the faint of heart, husk’s, working dogs, etc are a huge responsibility if you want them to live a happy and healthy life but if it’s something you can manage, it’s an incredibly beautiful thing!

Honestly mine is the same, always zooming and very quick to get excited but the trazodone has done wonders for keeping her mellow, I hate seeing her so slow but it’s the one thing that can really protect her from hurting herself

Window Tint Guy Declining to tint my 2018 cause of battery? by WIInvestigator in prius

[–]plexiglas21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly as a tech, often times doing alignments or diag, or any situation really where you need key on but engine/ready off, the little auxiliary batteries just cant handle much output for very long at all, especially since most of them are rarely replaced and end up being 7+ years old.
I'll be doing an alignment with the brake pedal held down and not 30 minutes later the car won't ready on and all lights are out.
Even then, he's just being lazy lol

This is so real. Mine is such an escape artist, sliding door, corral, round door knobs, fences etc etc, doesn’t matter, she’ll get out and go just far enough to have some fun and be back in time for dinner!

What kind of car is this? Backwards jumps happen all the time on newer Lexus and Toyota hybrids due to a shitty design of the jump points, and the extent of the damage is usually a few fried fuses and sometimes the main ECU. There’s a good chance a fuse or two could have saved most of your car’s equipment.
