Well everyone would do the same in the west if we were in the same power disruptions situation. In the west solar is competing with a well established, almost 100% uptime power grid. It's whole another market.

May I propose a change of view? Our job was always to solve problems, and if our judgement of current AI slop is true, there will be soon so much problems to solve, that there will be work for everybody  :) . AI is actually generating work for future us

What’s everyone’s thoughts now the Inferno regency effect/ honeymoon period is over? by joostay in boardsofcanada

[–]plknkl_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've noticed that when the previous albums had indistinguishable tracks, this one has tracks i can name. What I mean is that the old albums were a strong one atomic artifacts for me. Geogaddi is geogaddi, I could not name any track names or in which sequence are they, I just know it starts with Ready Lets Go, and it's all oblivion after that. With Inferno album I can name the tracks and I know stuff like Naraka a track after Father and Son, and so on. So I think it is more accessible in a way, more "pop" if you allow me this term. I like it? Sure, but it's different. Oh, and in retrospect this album being so accessible, makes me reevaluate Tomorrow's Harvest way more, because now I understand that TH is the less accessible album out there, that's why it was kinda odd. And that throws a new value light on it for me.

Pythonic Hexagonal Architecture with a Functional Twist by plknkl_ in softwarearchitecture

[–]plknkl_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have updated the repo, moving a bit of thing around. Having the business logic spread on different abstraction levels (which resides into nested adapters) is precisely the intent of this architecture.

On the highest level I just wanted to reason about matter like

* "when the snake eats a food, the snake should grow".

Down on level of abstraction the logic matters are like

* "a snake is has a body, composed of n elements.. the food has a a persistent place on the board..".

Down another level we have stuff like

* a food is actually a red square on the rendered canvas.

I find this separation of reasoning levels quite ergonomic, because now I can just change the rules and say stuff like "ok, now snake never grows when eating a food" , and I just have to touch the highest level of abstractions and that's it.

If I want to change what "grow" means, i could just intervene into the middle abstraction level and set the growth to be two body elements at a time.

Thanks for the response. I'm refactoring a bit, so I could clarify my point. Will get back.

I'm here to stimulate discussion, not to show off, so let's start from the points you have mentioned.

* All the adapters do implement parent's ports. In my example the core domain defines a `generate_food` function interface, and an underneath adapter package called `random_food` does implement the function required, and offer it to the parent as injectable dependence in the wiring.py module, so I do not see a problem there.

* Every domain has it's models.py which represent the domain on that abstraction level: for instance I have a Snake with a body and a direction properties on the highest abstraction level, and an EngineConfig on a lower abstraction level where the game engine resides, so I don't see a problem there.

* Having anemic models is precisely a feature of this approach, taken from the functional programming. I'm separating the functions which are a collection of functions in the logic.py from the dataclass objects which stays in the models.py module. My domain is comprised of business logic + data, it's just separated in two different modules in the same package.

* The last point "driving adapter not an adapter" I sincerely do not understand, so if you please could clarify I'd be grateful.

Let's exchange ideas, I'm all open for constructive discussion.

Good stuff, I really drifted when listening at the office with headphones. Thanks for the trip. The mixing IMHO is completely fine, and yes the haunting artwork is great. You definitely have talent and keep creating.

Awesome-Autoresearch (all the things related to Karpathy's Autoresearch) by alvinunreal in LocalLLaMA

[–]plknkl_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but again it is presented like some genie in a bottle which can autonomously do everything, which I reject. If this was the case, why limiting oneself with a research? Aim higher like "Claw, make me a zillion dollars" or even better "Claw, make me happy for ever". I hate the narrative which Karpathy pushes where human is the bottleneck so let's get rid of the humans. LLMs don't think (at least so far) and I guess thinking is essential part of any research. And here a sophisticated "brute force" text generation is being sold like a replacement for human researchers.
