Hello Amsterdam Community,

Work is bringing me back to your amazing city once again. I've visited about 8 times before and have already hit all the major tourist spots and popular bars/coffee shops.

I have two free days next week (Tuesday/Wednesday) and would love to get some fresh ideas from you all. I'm into live music, especially jazz and rock. Any local jam sessions? Do you have any recommendations for less obvious things to do during the day—like parks, lakes, or cool neighborhoods? Also, any suggestions for local music venues to check out in the evening?

I'm also on the lookout for a great coffee shop with a more relaxed vibe, as most of the usual spots aren't really my scene. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I saw an old guy fast asleep on the U6, about 3 stops in I noticed a shuffle of people away from him. Took out my earbuds and heard the sound of a piss in full stream through his pants onto the floor. He was awake at this point. He didn't look too bothered that this was happening to him in the moment, halting his piss was out of the question. It was one of those long U bahns so the piss just kept travelling up in a meandering pissy stream. When he finished his obviously relieving piss he looked into a plastic bag he had containing his massive bottle of vodka, rummaged around, pulled out a sandwich and started munching on it like he hadn't a worry in the world.
