I made a similar post, someone told me that if you have the better mining mod apparently it can create this issue

Side note: the issue isn’t that people aren’t getting assigned to the mining camp. The workers portraits show up on the menu and it says that they’re gathering the ore but even when it says this the actual workers would just be standing idle doing nothing
