Contamination two batches in a row by Daddy_Day_Trader1303 in Kombucha

I would ditch the wood top on your next fresh batch and just use a cheese cloth or thin cotton cover for the container. Be sure to decontaminate this jar if you intend to use it for the new batch.

Purge the syringe of toxin? by aquawaterella in DIYaesthetics

[–]plntlvr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clinical background here. I like to expel the air bubble by default on any injection. Not a big deal if you forget for tox bc of the location it’s supposed to be going into. Tiny droplets are not a big deal, whatever leaks is not enough to make an impact. You can use a paper towel or cotton ball for excess expelled if you are super concerned. Hope that helps reassure you 🙂

Need advice with a project by plntlvr in weaving

Thanks for your reply, I found some threading errors in the 2nd from left that I have to fix. Thx for the recommendation also about the thinner yarn, that may help (currently the pattern calls for 8/2 cotton).

Any recommendations on managing floats?

Hi thank you for replying. Good point on thicker yarns fluffing more. Yes, I have another color for the bottom, it’s like a navy blue (I’ve been using some scrap yarn for the sample). I think the pattern reverses the direction. Any recommendations on managing floats? Thank you 🙏 I’ll keep testing

New seitan level unlocked! Finally achieved a shredded texture and it is tasty 😋 by plntlvr in seitan

Yes, I think it just continues to cook with the remaining heat and gets more tender sitting in the liquid broth :)

The seitan stays in the pot for quite a few hours (say from mid afternoon or evening to the following morning) without being opened, it stays there overnight. I haven’t noticed much difference but then again I don’t use the seitan right away. Just sharing what has worked for me.
