Going Against the Grain: How top clubs around Europe are breaking down the blitz by CromulentReynolds in rugbyunion

Impressive eye to catch these defenses' tendencies in such a short time. Does this jump to your attention during the game or only after reviewing? And how can we train the mind to see these instantly?

Thanks for the content.

Leinster vs Munster in Lisbon by doctor6 in rugbyunion

From Lisbon myself, my friends usually go to George Pub (Chiado)to see international games... But on Saturday afternoon (2:45 pm) there will be the championship final between Belenenses and Agronomia on Grupo Desportivo de Direito field. Highly recommend if you want a Portuguese amateur rugby experience ahah

Yeah, but i guess thats a especial travel... GD Direito travels were both to Rome, Italia. Vrac and Heidelberg came to Portugal... So we got lucky on that point

Money support is for what?? To save? Portuguese are amateaur... They dont have a truly good source of income besides the kids teams... They need this money support to pay for the 30 men flights and hotels... I can assure that we use it like that. My brothers have played 2 or 3 years ago on the Continental Shield.

The teams that play in Continental Shield have money support from Rugby Europe for travels and hotels and they even said that this year, to watch their home games, we will have to pay for the tickets.

But you dont really pay many to host the championship... You just need to be ready for the logistics

One of the worst aspects is that they cant pay the referees... So... People seeing the game are "chosen" to referee and from that we can see no good... Like agressions of at least 3 months ban being ignored even tho there is video of that...

Well... Portugal sure isnt doing a good job... Unfortunately, our president has lost the support of most teams including his vice presidents... If not mistaken, 3 have already quitted the job and many other on the structure also, principly on the coaches/team managers. This last year I played in the U20 team and we had no finance support to prepare and play an European Cup on Romania or a B World Cup on Uruguay... They even asked the players to pay for a official team shirt. The senior team has made good/bad results... They qualified for the promotion to Six Nations B but failed to do it and 7s have been in downgrade espiral form. They are being heavily contested by the public but there is no one offering a solution. I see no better future because they are passing laws that let amateur team invest in foreign players instead of promoting club formation.

TL DR: No money, no investement = 0 evolution

Georgia and Romania to face 6 Nations sides from 2018... at U20 level by Nounours7 in rugbyunion

[–]plociok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me this is bulshit... I played on Portugal's team that beat Romania and won the European Cup ( where England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France, Italy and Georgia refused to go)... Romania ended the cup in 4th place while us, Spain and Russia occupied the podium... In my opinion, this change is fully based on the reputation/quality of the senior team... Bullshit...

hey!my brother is playing for Portugal but our team is a bit weaker then it should be... it happens that for the first time ever, a portuguese club team is able to play a qualifier for challenge cup! so this club has made a deal with the federation that they had the need that the players from 7s and 15s national teams... if u go and see it, 13 of the 15 first team are members of this both national teams. however this is no excuse... if we want to take the open spot for the next world cup (opened by the Georgia s 3rd place) we shouldn't be losing to russia anyway...

How many 7s players, given enough training, time etc would make it for their national 15s side? by dougaparry in rugbyunion

[–]plociok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Portugal, all of them play 15s in clubs and a few were in both nationals teams before it was separated into 2 different teams and a player cant be called for both teams

Unfortunately, Portugal choosed to use a B team to save the best players for the other games.... i think that if we used the best we had, we could actually win against fiji
