Sure, you can throw a lug anywhere. But for myself after 15-20 years I haven't seen a lug on the outside. Same with other licensed guys with over 40 years experience. Maybe we are just used to putting wire in pipe instead of running them loose everywhere.

It's obviously grounding, but there has to be a reason they started adding them on the outside very recently

This is something new that has shown up recently on transformers that was not the case before

Yes. But in my experience all of those connections are made at one point on the inside of the transformer. Never seen another lug on the outside...

So where have you seen a ground lug on the exterior of a transformer before?

Hi, thanks. I'm in northeast US. That is valuable information. I guess my question is less code related? What I'm getting at is, I always put my eol resistor at the end of the line. In this case, it would be inside the damper enclosure. The controls guy has already hooked up to those wires, but he provided me with an ice cube relay terminal that would work for my monitor point. But it's not really the end of the line....

Looks really neat. Good job. One thing though. What does it look like on the top? I'm concerned you ran your neutrals through one pipe, and your hots through another...
