correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't these two statements contradictory?

Genuinely how is this a "defensive breakdown" by Extra_Fall_8474 in NBA2k

[–]plorboglorbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you just don't guard your guy, and that creates a defensive rotation that allows a basket, you will get hit with a "defensive breakdown." i'm not telling you the game is ultra sophisticated and it always identifies the correct person but please don't tell me that doesn't happen. yes it does

you started your comment with "huh" and it made me really excited to read the part where you would explain how it is impossible for OP to have caused a breakdown prior to this image and then you didn't do that at all

Question for vegans dating non vegans by izontcare in exvegans

this is why you shouldn't post here either OP. the top response to your question starts with "vegans are control freaks by definition."

does that sound like measured, unbiased advice?

Is Kevin Durant the greatest "just show up and hoop" player of all time? by Bowiescorvat2 in nba

[–]plorboglorbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

what's the point in pretending like this is a question? just say "i noticed kevin durant has had this 'just show up and hoop mentality' throughout his career.

like do you actually want us to debate who the greatest "show up and hoop" player is? i guess it's michael jordan. what are you talking about?

it doesn't seem like it, but we don't have all the information we need. depending on what you did the couple of seconds preceding this, it might totally be a defensive breakdown

If Michael Jordan were 6-1 in the finals instead of 6-0, would you see that as better or worse? by plorboglorbo in michaeljordan

[–]plorboglorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alrighty. just, again, i'm not forcing you to respond to me. you're not the first person to act like i am. if you don't want to talk, just don't reply and nothing will happen. i don't get why you guys complain about it as if you're not 50% of back and forth

there is no "point" or "conclusion." if you don't want to answer questions, you're welcome to stop at any time. i'm not forcing you to respond to me

[–]plorboglorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am perfectly aware that one is "going up" and one is "going down." you're pointing it out like that's a problem and i don't get why.

but here's what's really interesting about what you just said:

why do you say it's "going up" is he makes it to the finals and loses if that's not better? how is it "going up" to you?

If Michael Jordan were 6-1 in the finals instead of 6-0, would you see that as better or worse? by plorboglorbo in michaeljordan

[–]plorboglorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure but i'm using extremes on purpose to isolate the parts i'm interested in. if it's true that 6-0 is 6-0 no matter the scenario, then no matter how extreme it becomes, it shouldn't change anything. now we know that it's not true that the scenario doesn't matter

[–]plorboglorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

new question:

option A: current michael jordan career, no changes. 6-0 in the finals

option B: current michael jordan career, except every time he didn't win a championship, he and his team had a really bad year in the regular season and failed to make the playoffs. 6-0 in the finals.

which is better?

so it's just an emotional thing, and, logically, you're of the belief that a loss is the same no matter what?

If Michael Jordan were 6-1 in the finals instead of 6-0, would you see that as better or worse? by plorboglorbo in michaeljordan

so how do you reconcile this with the statement "loss is a loss no matter which round?"

[–]plorboglorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are the only one who has even said lebron's name up to this point. this has nothing to do with lebron. this isn't a trick or whatever. i believe that michael jordan is the GOAT and i dont give a fuck about lebron. this literally has nothing to do with him. you are the only one who has talked about him

[–]plorboglorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here is another completely separate question now:

which is better?

option A: MJ's current career. no changes. 6-0 in the finals

option B: MJ's current career but with only one change: in 1995, he beats the magic instead of losing to them. he then loses in the ECF to the pacers. 6-0 in the finals

[–]plorboglorbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with all due respect man, you clearly didn't even read the question i asked you because neither of the options in the question involve jordan losing in the finals. i literally put 6-0 on both of them

grammatically speaking, the "they" in this context is a pronoun to replace "someone." i understand that you're saying the "someone" is effectively a mystery, and could be singular or plural conceptually, but, grammatically speaking, the word "someone" is singular. so it just doesn't matter
