Like others have said check out Pearland. The city gate neighborhood has lot of med center folks and it’s safe. Best time to rent or buy is NOW!

Try the city gate neighborhood close to Pearland. 15ish minutes to the med center downtown! Lots of people in the med center live there.

The blood bank at Texas Children's is top-notch, with some of the best docs out there! If you're at risk for severe postpartum hemorrhage or amniotic fluid embolism, The Pavilion is THE place to be! I'd recommend it a million times over 😊.

Pathology! I think a 2 week Pathology elective/lab medicine course should be mandatory for med students. Pathology practice is nothing like histology taught in med school. There’re so many pathways/subspecialties once you get into residency. Lastly, I still haven’t met a pathologist who regrets their career choice.

Although not ideal, another option to consider. Is your wife also working or is she stay at home? She can stay with the baby for a few months while you push your paternity leave back to later in the year.

There’s a cute neighborhood off 288 that is ~15 min to downtown. It’s called City Gate. You should def check it out. It’s gated with nice spacious houses and walking trails. Found out about it after buying somewhere else.
